7、 try to check in a Solidworks, Autocad or Inventor drawing whose file name is already in the vault.Once a drawing is checked in it is available for anyone with access to view or print based on permissions.Check In and keep Checked OutSelect “Keep Checked Out” to save to the server and keep working o
8、n your drawing.Check In of duplicate fileIf you try to check in a file with a filename that is already in the vault you will get a warning.Check to see if the duplicate filename is the same or different than the file you are trying to check in.If the files are the same:Delete the file you are trying
9、 to check in.Substitute the file already in the vault into your assembly.If the files are different you must change the filename and part number.Check In of AssembliesAssembly Check In will show all file references.All files are selected to be checked in by default.Check In of DrawingsDrawing Check

11、embly, especially if the detailing stage has begun.Assembly Release ChecklistCheck to be sure all purchased parts in the local project folder have correct data cards and information.Check that all manufactured parts have already have passed through the checking process and are ready to be released a
12、s well.Do not release an assembly if there are unreleased parts.Make sure the parts are already released or are in the “Purchased Part” or “Checked” state.Be sure to manually check all files that need to transition to released with the assembly. Scroll through the file list and manually check the fi
13、les that need to change state along with the assembly.Although this may take some time before a release, it takes more time to fix mistakes afterwards.File HistoryViewing File HistoryYou can view the history of version and state changes for files. To view a files history:Select a file and click the
14、History icon (Windows Explorer toolbar) or right-click the file and select History.In the History dialog box, select a version of the document and click ViewViewing File HistoryClick Print to send a complete History to the printer.PDM SearchEnterprise PDM SearchRight Mouse Button over the Windows St

For Solidw
24、orks Drawings, the associated Part or Assembly must change state along with the drawing. AutoCAD drawings are not dependent on any other files.The titleblock drawing status will automatically be changed to “UNDER REVISION DO NOT MANUFACTURE”. The file(s) are now in the Under Revision state. Add a de
25、tailed comment in the transition so that others may know why the file is not Released and what is changing.Revision ProcessSelect Both Drawing and Part/Assy File(s) at the same time to ensure all follow the same revision letter.Change the state to Under RevisionRevision ProcessAdd a detailed comment
26、 stating the intended changes for this revision.Revision ProcessMake changes and check files back in.Change state on both files to Ready for Checking.Revision ProcessAdd comment for checker.The checker will receive an email notification.Revision ProcessThe checker will check the drawing and either A
27、pprove or Not Approve the drawing by changing the state on the files to either Checked or Not Approved by CheckerRevision ProcessThe checker will add comments on why the drawing is not approved.Revision ProcessDesigner corrects drawing.Designer re-submits drawing for checking.The designer adds a com
28、ment for the checker.Revision ProcessThe Lead ME will Release the files after they are Checked.Release drawing files from the PDM Explorer window only.Releasing from within Solidworks will crash the batch print and pdf export routines.The transition comments for the Release state change must contain
29、 all the revision changes made. The Revision level is incremented by one letter and the titleblock drawing status will automatically be changed to “RELEASED FOR CONSTRUCTION”.The PDM system will then generate a PDF and prompt for the user to print the files.Revision ProcessPurchased PartsPurchased P
30、artsSearch the vault for purchased items before downloading a model from the vendor.If found, share the item to the project folder using the Paste Shared feature.Purchased PartsImport the STEP file into Solidworks.Save the file into the Project Folder.Use the same vendor name as used in the Purchase

36、ade to it are automatically updated in all locations in the vault.Shared files are marked with a yellow plus-sign in the icon in the Windows Explorer view. Sharing FilesUse this feature when using an existing ABCO drawing (and its part/assy) in another project folder.Use this feature to copy vendor
37、items from the Purchased Parts folder into a project folder.The administrator will copy purchased parts from a project folder into the Purchased Parts libarary.Sharing FilesTo share files:Right-click the file and select CopyRight-click the destination folder and select Paste Shared.Sharing FilesTo w
