2、Protective Equipment (PPE) is not a substitute for safe working practices, it is an additional protective barrier to prevent injury Minimum PPE requirements are: Safety Helmet check for dents, cracks and expiry date. Do not drill holes, store in extreme temperatures, clean with heavy solvents or pla

3、ce stickers on your safety helmet Safety boots leather lace up, steel capped with slip resistant, chemical resistant and puncture resistant soles Approved safety glasses Long sleeved shirt and long trousers Safety Vests Insect repellent for night workers,Personal Protective Equipment,Wearing of PPE

4、in designated areas is mandatory Additional PPE and clothing requirements shall be identified via a JSA prior to commencing work. Replace any damaged and poorly fitting PPE,Personal Protective Equipment,When it is not feasible to reduce the noise or its duration use ear protective devices Hearing pr

8、,Temporary Barriers: Barriers shall be erected with appropriate signage to indicate to site personnel the restriction and or actions required. An information tag must be attached to the temporary barrier Only those personnel assigned to the work are permitted in a barricaded area All signage and bar

9、riers must be removed on completion of work to remove confusion,Temporary Barriers,Always use barricading when erecting scaffolding Always inspect scaffolding before use Never use incomplete or uncertified scaffold. Never make unauthorised alterations. Never climb up on the guard/handrails to gain e

10、xtra height. Never drop or throw things down from scaffolding. Use correct PPE (full body harness) when working at a height of 2 meters or above if guard/handrails are absent. 18、 aid box and the number of the nearest Paramedic (for general/minor heath issues) All medical emergencies must go through the site/AML Ops centre,Health,Temperature Stress - Heat,To avoid heat stress keep yourself well hydrated drink 2-3 litres of water per day (drink small amounts often) Wear head

19、and body PPE for protection from sun lightweight long sleeves, hat, sunblock Wear dark safety glasses when working outside in the sun. Ensure you change your dark glasses to clear ones when returning inside, working in shaded areas or buildings Arrange heavy work task for the beginning of a shift (t

20、he team is fresh, coolest part of the day) Any signs of heat stress report it immediately to your supervisor; these include heavy sweating, muscle cramps, dizziness, headache, nausea/vomiting or fainting,Health,All accidents/incidents/near misses must be reported immediately to your supervisor Your

21、supervisor will escalate as required under African Minerals accident reporting procedure Initial investigation must be completed within 24 hours A full investigation may take longer, however, an initial investigation will be required so that any remedial corrective actions can be taken Please forwar
