wait.

Nowisthetimetointensifythestruggleonallfronts.Torelaxour

effortsnowwouldbeamistakewhichgenerationstocomewillnotbeableto

roleinauniteddemocraticandnonracialSouthAfricaistheonlywaytopeace

andracialharmony.Inconclusion,Iwishtoquotemyownwordsduringmytrial

in1964.Theyareastruetodayastheywerethen.Ispoke:Ihavefought

againstwhitedominationandIhavefoughtagainstblackdomination.Ihave

cherishedtheidealofademocraticandfreesocietyinwhichallpersonslive

togetherinharmonyand—andwithequalopportunities.ItisanidealwhichI

hopetoliveforandtoachieve.Butifneedsbe,itisanidealforwhichIam

preparedtodie.
