Some would suggest that a day would be great if everything they did turned out well, or they got exactly what they needed. On the other hand, have you ever thought that what you may give someone else may be the best day you ever had especially when you put someone elses well-being or happiness first on your list? There is special warmth available to you and that warmth can come from a helping hand, doing a small favor for a total stranger, or even a smile. I recall a day recently when I had to go to the hospital for an appointment because I wasnt feeling well and my doctor sent me to a specialist to try and determine the cause. As I drove to the hospital, I admittedly was feeling gloomy and certainly wasnt on top of my game. As I approached the hospital, I began my search for a parking spot, a spot that was hard to come with everyone else trying to do the same thing. I finally found a spot not too far from the entrance to the hospital. As I got out and brought my change out of my pocket, I noticed a man looking somewhat upset standing in front of a parking meter two cars away. He seemed to be searching his pockets for what I supposed was change for the meter. Although,I really didnt feel that great, I thought that I should at least go over to him and find out if I could help him. As I approached him, he turned to look at me, feeling at a loss not knowing what to do. I asked him if he had a problem I could help with, and he said, without hesitation, that he had no change at all because he left it in his houseonly thinking about visiting his sick wife. Paragraph 1: Faced with such a situation, I reached into my pocket. _Paragraph 2 : The funny thing was that I felt a lot brighter, and a small smile came to my face. Have you ever had to overcome an extreme challenge in your life? My teenage years had been insane. From schoolwork to athletics, I had always been running around. Everything was so difficult. Throughout my hectic teenage years I have been faced with many extreme challenges that have required extreme focus and hard work to overcome. If it hadnt been for hard work, none of these challenges that I faced would have been conquered. Two years ago, when I was a freshman in high school, I dealt with an extremely significant injury. This took place in my tennis tournament in Januaty. In the climax of my match, I jolted my back to the left andsoon after felt a sharp, painful shock run through my spine. I knew at that difficult moment I seriously injured my back. I was rushed off the court and my parents made an appointment with an orthopedist (矯形外科醫(yī)生) for the next morning. I walked into the office extremely nervous and suffering from excruciating pain. My tennis season for school started in three months and I absolutely needed to build up the strength. After about twenty minutes of waiting in the office, which felt like an eternity, the doctor walked in to examine my X-rays. With a sorrowful face, the doctor looked into mine and my mothers eyes and said, There is a 50/50 chance that Lucas will be able to participate in this yearns tennis season. Lucas broke his L5 vertebrae in his lower back. My heart dropped and I felt a sadness come over me. The doctor said that I would be sitting out of physical activity for two and a half to three months. Those three months were the longest three months of my life. I was so eager to get back to practices for the season.Every day, I would think about how it was going to be when I was fully healthy. I asked myself, Am I going to be out of shape? Should I even play this year? I probably wont have a successful season. From that dreadful day on, I decided thatI was going to put in the work to be back in top form and have a successful season. Paragraph 1: AfterI got the all clear from my orthopedist l was going to get to work. _Paragraph 2 :My hard work proved to be very effective._3、閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)所給情節(jié)進(jìn)行續(xù)寫,使之構(gòu)成一個(gè)完整的故事。 I am Sadie. I love oceans, especially the one near my grandmas house with beautiful shells. Why? Thats what I am about to tell you. It all started when my parents divorced a few weeks ago. I had remained silent since then. So my mother decided to send me to Florida to live with my grandma. On the way to my grandmas house,my mother said, “Sadie,I know we are not the best family you can have and I truly apologize. I just do not know how to be a mother. But remember, Sadie, whatever happened, I do love you. These words made me sadder. When we arrived, Grandma told me to go upstairs and unpack my things while she spoke to my mother. When I saw a blue and green painted room with a huge window and a comfortable bed, I thought, Moving to Florida might not be that bad. I comforted my-self as I walked towards the window. I opened the curtains and saw sky-blue waves slowly washing away the sand on the beach and sea birds flying in the clear sky. The ocean was only a few hundred meters away from here. After my mother left, Grandma softly touched my shoulder, “I want to take you to the place I calledthe Big Blue. And I think you might like it. (I guess you could know where it is.) Before I stepped on the sand I could smell the ocean. Together we enjoyed the sunset with a whole lot of yellow and orange. Suddenly she picked out the most beautiful shell I had ever seen in my life. It was almost gold, shining in the sunlight. I couldnt move my eyes off it.注意:1.所續(xù)寫短文的同數(shù)應(yīng)為150左右;2.至少使用5個(gè)短文中標(biāo)有下劃線的關(guān)鍵詞語(yǔ);3.續(xù)寫部分分為兩段,每段的開頭語(yǔ)已為你好;4.續(xù)寫完成后,請(qǐng)用下劃線標(biāo)出你所使用的關(guān)鍵短語(yǔ)Paragraph 1:Want to know how I get through my parents divorce? The abandoned buildings there were his playground. Jamie moved a wooden board from the door to one of the buildings. He crawled inside. There was broken glass on the floor. Jamie went down the stairs to the basement. It was even darker down there, and damp. The buildings were near the river. Sometimes water flooded in. Hed never found anything aliveuntil he found Sharon. “Sharon, Im here!” Jamie called. “I brought a candle, too. Im going to light it so I can see you better. Jamie took out a match and lit the candle. A soft circle of light lit up the darkness. “Come over here where I can see you,” Jamie said. “Please dont be afraid. Im not afraid. I told you that.” The creature slithered (滑行) into the light. It was about Jamies size. Its head and body were covered with dark green scales(鱗片). In the light of the candle, the scales shone like diamonds. The creatures eyes glowed red, suddenly, like hot coals. Its nostrils (鼻孔) flared, giving off heat. Jamie stared. He thought he had never seen anything so beautiful. Thats why hed decided to call the creature Sharon. He wanted to give a beautiful name to hisnew pet. “Gee, Sharon,” he said, “I wish you could talk. I dont know if you understand me or not. And I,d really like you to tell me how you got here. The creature didnt answer. It just looked at Jamie. Its mouth opened slightly and something white gleamed. Jamiethought it was smiling. “Well,” said Jamie,I hope youre hungry. I brought you a chicken sandwich.” The creature looked down at the sandwich, thinking about something else, but made no move to eat it. “Ill just leave the food here for you, Jamie sighed. “I wish I could stay. But I have to go. Mom is on my case right now. Id help her. Ill come back tomorrow after school.”注意:1.所續(xù)寫短文的詞數(shù)應(yīng)為150左右;2.至少使用5個(gè)短文中標(biāo)有下劃線的關(guān)鍵詞語(yǔ);3.續(xù)寫部分分為兩段,每段的開頭語(yǔ)已為你寫好;4.續(xù)寫完成后,請(qǐng)用下劃線標(biāo)出你所使用的關(guān)鍵詞語(yǔ)。Paragraph 1: Jamie turned to go. _Paragraph 2: When Jamie got home, his mother looked angry. _5、閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)所給情節(jié)進(jìn)行續(xù)寫,使之構(gòu)成一個(gè)完整的故事。 When I was ten I was suddenly very sad, for I had to move from the only home I had ever known. My whole life had been spent in that big old house which saw the laughter and tears of four generations. When the final day came,I ran to the front of the house and sat alone, crying. Suddenly I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. I looked up to see my grandfather. “ It isnt easy,is it, Billy? he said softly, sitting down on the steps beside me. “Grandpa,” I repliedhow can I ever say goodbye to you and all my friends?” “Goodbye is such a sad word, he said. It seems too final, too cool, which has one thing in common: sadness.” He gently took my hand in his.“Come with me, my friend,” he whispered. We walked, hand in hand, to his favorite place in the front yard, where there was a huge red rose bush his beloved rose bush. What do you see here, Billy?” he asked. I looked at the flowers, not knowing what to say,I see something beautiful,Grandpa. “It isnt just the roses that are beautiful,Billy. Its that special place in your heart that makes them so.” His eyes met mine again.“Billy, I planted these roses a long time agobefore your mother was even a dream. I put them into the soil the day my first son was bom. It was my way of saying thank you to God. That boys name was Billy. I used towatch him pick roses for his mother. I saw my grandfathers tears. I had never seen him cry before. His voice became hoarse(嘶啞的). One day a terrible war came, and my son, like so many sons, went away to fight a great evil. He and I walked to the train station together. Three months later a telegram came. My son had died in Italy. All I could think of was that the last thing I say to him in his life was goodbye.注意:1.所續(xù)寫短文的同數(shù)應(yīng)為150左右;2.至少使用5個(gè)短文中標(biāo)有下劃線的關(guān)鍵詞語(yǔ);3.續(xù)寫部分分為兩段,每段的開頭語(yǔ)已為你寫好;4.續(xù)寫完成后,請(qǐng)用下劃線標(biāo)出你所使用的關(guān)鍵詞語(yǔ)。Paragraph 1: Grandpa slowly stood up. _Paragraph 2: Soon my grandfather became seriously ill. _6、閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)所給情節(jié)進(jìn)行續(xù)寫,使之構(gòu)成一個(gè)完整的故事。 Tommy and Mickle walked along the beach, looking for an adventure. They joked that some day they would find a talking fish or a mermaid or a bottle with a treasure map inside. So far they had only found shells and rocks and seaweed. Today was different though. The boys felt excited. Sea crabs scampered on the rocks, up one side and down the other. They were quick and lively. The tide didnt seem to ever wash them away. Then Tommy saw a fish. It was trapped on the beach, just flopping around. Can it talk? Mickle asked. “It looks like any other fish,” Tommy said. He picked it up gently and carried it to the water.“Do you think it will grant us any wishes? Mickle laughed. The boys watched as the silver fish sped off through the water. “No. Maybe next time”, Tommy grinned. As the two friends walked farther down the beach they came upon a bottle. It was green with a cork in the mouth. “Our luck will change. Does it have a map or a genie inside?”Mickle joked. Mickle reached down and picked up the bottle. He rubbed it. Nothing happened. He pulled on the cork. Nothing happened. He shook it. Nothing happened. “Try the cork again. I bet the genie is waiting for us to release him. Or well find a treasure map and have a real adventure, Tommy exclaimed. Mickle tugged again on the cork. He wiggled it back and forth. He twisted it around and around. Finally it popped out without breaking. Mickle shook the bottle. Nothing came out. Looking inside he couldn,t see anything. Tommy looked too and shook his head. Empty. “ Its just an old wine bottle,” Tommy complained. He grabbed the bottle and tossed it back onto the sand.注意:1.所續(xù)寫短文的詞數(shù)應(yīng)為150左右;2.至少使用5個(gè)短文中標(biāo)有下劃線的關(guān)鍵詞語(yǔ);3.續(xù)寫部分分為兩段,每段的開頭語(yǔ)已為你寫好;4.續(xù)寫完成后,請(qǐng)用下劃線標(biāo)出你所使用的關(guān)鍵詞語(yǔ)。Paragraph 1: The bottle hit a rock and shattered into many pieces. _Paragraph 2 : The two boys ran after it. _7、閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)所給情節(jié)進(jìn)行續(xù)寫,使之構(gòu)成一個(gè)完整的故事。 Every year on my birthday, from the time 1 turned 12, a white gardenia was delivered to my house in Bethesda, Maryland. No card or note came with it. Calls to the florist were always in vainit was a cash purchase. After a while I stopped trying to discover the senders identity and was just delighted in the beauty and fragrance of that magical, perfect white flower placed in softpink tissue paper. However, I never stopped imagining who the anonymous giver might be. My mother contributed to these imaginings. And at that time, shed a
