ernmentseldomeducatesustoconsumethosethingsinourdailylife;instead,unhealthychainstoresaretakingthehandoftheernmentineducatinguswhatseemsrighttoeatduetotheignoranceoftherampantdevelopmentofill-nourishedfoodAdmittedly,somepeoplemaystillthinkourernmenthasdoneitsroleofeducatingcitizenstoeathealthyandkeepabalancedlife.Forinstance,intheschool,studentsaretaughtwhatnutrientsarevitaltoourphysicalconditionandsomeoftheernmentalorganizations,takingHealthyandSanitaryDepartmentforexample.Itisholdingsomeactivitiestoteachcitizenswhattoeattokeepinagoodshapeandlivehealthily.However,tome,thisisnotenough.Greasyfoodandsugarybeveragesarestillsoldintheschoolduetoitshighprofits.Saltyfood,highcarbohydratedietsandfriedproductsarenotararesightwhenpeoplegotosupermarketsorwhentheyturnontheTVorreadthemagazines.Inconclusion,eventhoughmyernmentistryingitsbesttoeducatepeopletoeatrightinsomeaspects,thisisnotsufficientandnoteffectual.Theernmentisstilltryingtofocusmoreonthedevelopmentofeconomyandpeoplearestillbombardedwiththeadvertisementsofthefoodindustry,sopeopleeatbythe―trend,‖ratherthanbythe―nutritionfacts‖fromfood.Hence,Ithinkmyernmentisnoteducatingtheirpeopleenoughconcerningabalancedlifeandahealthyeatingconcept.4Doyouagreeordisagreewiththestatementthatitisawasteofmoneyfor ernment'sfundtospacetravelorspaceexploration?Somepeoplesaythatexplorationofouterspacehasmanyadvantages;otherpeoplefeelthatitisawasteofmoneyandotherresources.Whichviewdoyouagreewith?UsespecificreasonsexamplestosupportyourThroughoutthehistoryofmankind,humanshavealwaysbeeneagertoexploretheworldandspacearoundus.Manydevelopedcountrieshavebeenfundingtheresearchprogramsaimingatdeveloandimprovingthetechnologyforspaceexploration.Ontheotherhand,somepeopledisagreewiththisviewandthinkthatthe ernmentshouldaimatimprovingthequalityoflifeandprovidingthebasicnecessitiesofneedstopeople―onearth‖foramorepracticalfundapplication.Thequestion,however,onwhetherornotmoneyshouldspendonspaceexplorationisacontroversialone.Ibelieve,givenallthetroublesintoday'sworld,spendingmoneyonspaceexplorationisatotalwasteformanyreasons.First,spaceexplorationprojectsrequirebillionsofdollarstocarryouttheresearch.Inotherwords,trainingastronauts,anddevelospecializedhumanandroboticspacecrafts.Typically,eachprojecttendtolastformanyyearswithnoguaranteeofcompleteness,accuracyandresultsthatcanbeadvantageoustomankind,duringwhichbillionsofpeopleonearthhavebeenstrugglingdayandnightonlytoearntheverybasicnecessitiesoflife,suchaspeoplelivinginThailandand .Worse,agreatmanyofyoungkidsarenotreceivingqualityeducationduetolackoffundfromthe ernment.Qualifiedteachers,schoolfacilitiesaswellasbooksinthelibraryareseriouslyindeprivation.Forthelongrun,thisphenomenonwillbeadversetoanationforallrespects.Thesethings,inmyopinion,arewaymoresignificanttothe―outerspaceSecondly,ernmentsshouldspendmoremoneytohelpthisworld.Putasidedomesticissues,wecaneasilydiscoverpeoplelivinginpovertyandfamineallovertheworldwhenweturnontheTV.Forinstance,wecanseeandreadinmanymediaresourcesaboutthehungerindifferentareas.Byspendingmoremoneyinsupportingthehungrypeoplewithfood,andhelthemtofindtheirfoodresources,wecanassistthosepeoplewiththeirbasicneeds.Withsuchhelp,theycanembarkmoreontheirduty.Iftheyarestudents,theycanstudymoreauously,expectingthemtomakecontributionstotheircountry.Iftheyareconstructionworkers,theycanworkbetterwithmorestrengthtocompletetheinfrastructureoftheirnationwithoutworryingabouttheirbasicneeds.Themoneysavedfromtheinvestmentofouterspacecanalsobeutilizedineducationofwhichitisthefoundationofacountry.Thisiswhatourernmentshouldfundandmakeitprosperous.Onthecontrary,ifernmentspendsthemoneyonthisuncertainouterspaceexploration,agreatnumberofpeoplecanbehungry;somecountriescannotbebuiltanddevelopedinaproperway;andchildrencannotreceivedecenteducation—thosethingsareensured,whilethemoneyspentontheexplorationofouterspaceisshakingand―far-away.‖Lastly,itismuchmoreimportanttosolvethemysteryofseveralsevereorlife-threateningdiseasesoftheworldratherthansolvingthemysteryofuniversespreadingthroughlimitlessspace.Itisshockingtoread,tensofthousandsofpeoplearedyingofcancereveryyeararoundtheworld.Inmanycases,patientsdiedeitherduetolackoffundsortherewasnoresearchforthespecifictumoravailableatthetime.Inadditiontothat,wedon'tevenhavediscoveredthecureofAIDS.Allofthesepeoplecouldbegivenachancetoliveifadequatefundsandresearchwereavailable.ForthesakeofspaceexplorationspendingbillionsofdollarsisnotworthincomparisontohumanIrrefutably,somepeoplemaythinkthatourernmentshouldnotbeshort-sightedanditisnotawastetospendmoneyontheexplorationofouterspace.Ithelpstofindnewhabitationsforhumanbeingsbecauseourearthis ingmoreandmoreuninhabitablebecauseofthepopulationAlthoughwehavetriedvariousmeanstorelievetheburdenofoverpopulation,suchasthebuildingofskyscrapersandthepracticeofbirthcontrol,theproblemisgrowingincreasinglyserious.However,therearemorethingsthatshouldbeprioritizedforthebettermentofourcountry.Thebestway,Ithink,istofocusoureyesonsomethingmoreurgentanddowntoearthinoursociety.Inconclusion,givenallthetroublesintheworldaforementioned,itisnotworthtospendthemoneytospaceexploration.ernments,especiallyindevelopedcountries,shouldfundresearchprojectsaimingatfacilitatingthepeopleindesperateneed.Ifnecessaryforsuchexploration,eachspaceresearchprojectshouldbecriticallyevaluatedwithrespecttoitsimpactonhumanbeingsintermsofpragmatism.However,still,Iagreewiththisstatement-itisawasteofmoneyforernment'sfundtospacetravelorspaceexploration.ernments,afterall,shouldrankthingsaccordingtoitsimportanceandurgencyandpeople‘sbasicneedsfitthatcategorymuchWhichofthefollowingdoyouthinkcontributesthemosttoanenjoyablevacation?GoodFood,GoodLocation,GoodFriendstotravelwith?Whengoingonavacation,avarietyoffactorscancontributetotheoverallqualityofyourexperience.Forme,thethreebiggestcontendersaregoodfood,goodfriends,andgoodlocation.However,ifIhadtogowithjustone,goodlocationwouldwinhandsdown.WhenItravel,thefirstthingI'mlookingtodoisbroadenmyhorizons.Foodiscertainlyonewaytodothat,butitonlyconstitutesasmallpartofhowwecanexperienceforeigncultures.Andfriendsaresurelygreatforthe ,buttheycanalsokeepyourmindsettrappedinfamiliarterritorywhileabroad.That'swhyfoodandfriendsarereallysecondaryconsiderationsformewhiletraveling.AftercollegeIbackpackedalonethroughSouthAmerica,andwhileIthoroughlyenjoyedthefoodandlongedforsomefamiliarfacesnowandthen,themostsalientandenjoyablepartoftheexperiencewas ingimmersedinatotallyforeignlocation.Actually,I'dgoasfarastosaythattheexperiencewould'vebeenlessenjoyablehadIbroughtanyfriendswithme.That'sbecausewhenI'mvisitingnewces,I'malsolookingtomeetnewpeople;travelingwithfriendscanbegreat,buttravelingalonereallysyoutostepoutofyourcomfortzoneandminglewithstrangers.IhadactuallynnedtheSouthAmericanjourneymonthsbeforewithafriendofmine,butsomethingcameupandshewasdtodropout.Thefirstfewdaysafterlandingwereterrifying.I'dnevertraveledalonebefore,andcouldhardlychokeouttwowordsofSpanish.Butafterafewtorturousdaysofhangingaroundthehos,Icouldn'tstomachtheboredomanymore;IdecidedthatI'd
