Theabilitytoreadmicroexpressionscanbeusefulanywhere.OncemyhusbandandItraveledtoQatar②toleadameetingforbody-languagediscussion.Immediately,culturalstandardsmadeitdifficulttojudgehowtheaudiencewasreceivingourpresentation.Women’sbodieswerecompletelycovered,sowecouldn’tseetheirgestures.WhenIstoodonstagewithmyhusband,allthemenonlylookedathim,andallthewomenmerelylookedatme.Still,wecouldreadthemicroexpressionswesawaroundtheroom.Weknewfromthevideoswe’dpreviouslymadeofQataristhattheirmicroexpressionsreflectedthesamefeelingswemightfindfromaudienceanywhereelseintheworld.Sowecouldadjustourpresentationaccordinglyandfeltjustascomfortableasathome.
