Able to tell the major festivals listed in Unit 1 of Module 9 around the year.2. Be aware of paying attention to place of birth, date of
2、 birth, name of the person and other important facts about the person when listening to a persons life story. 3. Able to use Inversion and the Simple Past Tense to form questions and to give simple answers to them in short forms. 4. Able to locate the past forms of the words listed on page 55 in Uni
3、t 1 of Module 9. 5. Able to ask and answer the questions about somebodys life. Teaching procedures: Activity 1(2 minutes)GreetingsLily and Kelly say “Good morning ”to Ss. Lily asks Kelly some questions to let the Ss in Class 4 Grade 7 to get to know Kelly. The introduction is made according to the p
4、atterns learnt in Unit 1 of Module 7.² Where are you from?² Where were you born?Lily and KellyActivity 2(2 minutes)Lead-inKelly, where were you born? (October)Is it the 10th month of the year? (Yes.)By the way, do you know how many months are there in a year? (12)What are they? Oh, my dear
5、 Ss! Could you tell us the names of the 12 months (Lily asks the Ss)Ss answer the question.Lily asks the Ss to read the twelve months shown on the screen together. Kelly and Lily talk about their favourite festivals.Lily asks KellyLily asks SsActivity 3(5 minutes)Matching-making Game 1. Each of the
6、6 Festivals on Page 54 is printed on a piece of A4 paper, so are the 12 months.2. 18 Ss are asked to hold the printed paper before the board while 6 holding the Festivals and the rest months. 6 girls will be holding the Festival Cards while 12 boys will be holding the Month Cards. Each of the girls
7、has to say “I am Festival” when given the card. 3. By random, Lily will select one student to answer two questions each time. (Q 1: Which festival do you like best? Q 2: When is it?) 4. So, XX is in YY. (XX=Festival, YY=Month)5. Lily asks the whole class to say after her in the sentence pattern ment
8、ioned in Step 4 to consolidate what Ss have just learnt about the relationship between festivals and months.6. Kelly leads the Ss to do the Matching-making Game. Ss before the board have to do the matching one by one until all festivals are matched with the right months. 1. Kelly instructs Ss how to

Lily leads the Ss to say after her in Step 4.Activity 4(3 minutes)Listening comprehension-1The Life Story of Bettys GrandfatherThe class listens to the story of Bettys grandfather and answer questions in Exercise
10、 One (Activity 2 on Page 54) afterwards. 1. Kelly plays the tape about the story of Bettys grandfather.2. Lily checks the Ss answers.Activity 5(8 minutes) Listening comprehension-2The Life Story of Mark Twain1. “Oh, where is Kelly?” Lily asks Ss. 2. “Hey, Kelly! What are you reading? Were having an
11、English lesson with our dear Ss. Dont read comics there!” Lily asks Kelly.3. “Oh, No! Lily, Im not reading comics. Im reading a classic book called Tom Sawyer by the famous American writer Mark Twain. Im writing about him for our English class.” Kelly replies and the dialogue on Page 54 goes on.4. T
12、he class listens to the story of Mark Twain by watching the flash. 5. Ss will do Exercise Two after watching the flash.6. Check the answers. 7. Read the dialogue. Did you notice the past forms of verbs in the dialogue? Do you know how to change the root form of a verb (go) to the past form of

Work in pairs and practice the dialogue. 4. One pair performs the dialogue. Lily and Kelly Activity 8(10 minutes)Output1. The Ss will get the
17、task done in pairs.2. Each pair will have two pieces of paper. Student A will be given the piece of paper with the singer _and Student B will be given the piece of paper with the singer _.3. Two Ss work in pairs to complete an information card about each others singer. 4. Choose two Ss to introduce the two writers. 5.
