Recently,wedidapoetryproject,andoneoftheactivitieswasapeer(同齡人)review.Iwouldneverhavetakenpartifitwasuptome,asIpreferredtoworkindependently.ButwhenIgotinvolved,Ifoundintheexperience,IhaddonesomethingthatIthoughtwasnearlyimpossible—itmademypoetrybetter.MypartnerinformedmeofmymistakesandtoldmewhereIcouldgivemoredetail.
Oneofourfinalproductsoftheprojectwastopresentourpoetrytotheclass.I'vealwayslovedpublicspeaking,butIthoughtwithSummitLearning,Iwouldhavefewerchancestospeak.Iwaswrong.Thepeeractivitieswedidwithapartnergavememorebeliefinmyabilityandinspiredmetodomoretomakemypresentationthebestitcouldpossiblybe.
InteractionslikethesearewhatSummitLearningisallabout.Thisstyleoflearningbringsapositiveandhard-workingculturethatallowsustopushourboundariesandkeepgoing.Itcreatesasenseofcommunitysinceweareallworkingtowardsasimilargoal.
