一般現在時
(一)時態(tài)構成:
一般現在時主要由動詞的原形表示,如果主語是第三人稱單數,則在動詞原形后加-s或-es。
(二)時態(tài)的用法:
1、表示經常發(fā)生的動作、存在的狀態(tài)和現階段的習慣
常用的時間狀語有:often,sometimes,usually,always,seldom,inthemorning,everyday,onSunday等。如:

2、表示不受時間限制的事實或普遍真理

3、在含時間和條件狀語從句的復合句中
主句用一般將來時,從句則用一般現在時表示將來動作。如:

4、在含賓語從句的復合句中
盡管主句用過去時態(tài),但如果賓語從句所述內容是客觀真理,從句謂語動詞仍然用一般現在時。如:

5、表示已經安排或計劃好將來必定會發(fā)生的動作或存在的狀態(tài)

(一)現在進行時的構成
現在進行時由助動詞be(am,is,are)+現在分詞構成。am用于第一人稱單數,is用于第三人稱單數,are用于其他各人稱。
(二)現在進行時的用法
1)表示此時此刻正在進行的動作
Theboysarereadingmagazines.
Arethestudentsdancing?
Mr.GreenistalkingwithJimintheclassroom.
2)表示目前這段時間內正在進行的動作(盡管此時此刻該動作并不在進行中)

3)現在進行時常與副詞always,constantly等連用,表示反復出現或習慣性的動作,含有說話者的贊揚、不滿、討厭、遺憾等情緒。如

4)用進行時表示過程
It'sgettingcold.天氣變得越來越冷

5)現在進行時可用來表示按計劃安排即將發(fā)生的動作(見一般將來時有關講解)
注意:英語里有些動詞一般不用于進行時,它們在新教材里也被稱為靜態(tài)動詞。
①表示知覺的動詞,如see,hear,smell,taste,notice,feel等;
②表示態(tài)度和感情的動詞,如believe,agree,like,hate,want,think等;
③一些不表示具體動作而表示某種抽象的關系或概念的動詞,如have,depend,seem(似乎),belongto(屬于),consist(組成),possess(擁有,占有)等。
但當這些動詞的詞義改變時便可用于進行時。試比較:
