Secondly, play the tape for the students to listen and choose the answers. The students should try to find the answers and improve the listening skills. The teacher plays the tape recorder for students. Check the answers with the whole class. Thirdly, play the tape once more and pause after each phrase, asking the students to repeat chorally and individually to help the students learn and use the new words. Step Listening and reading Ask studentsthe table in Activity 4 and choose the best summary of the conversation in Activity 5. ListeningIn this procedure, the students will listen to a dialogue among Tony, Daming, Lingling and Betty with their books closed. They look up some facts about the increasing population and talk about the other problems of pollution, traffic and noise. T: Listen to the recording carefully, and you can read after the recording, and at the same time you must pay attention to the numerals in the dialogue.Play the recording a third time for students listen and check.
