Withonehandholdingthebodyoftheextinguisherandtheotherhandholdingthetrigger,aimatthebaseofthefire.
Depresstheextinguishertoactivatetheextinguisher.
Sweeptheextinguisherfromsidetosideensuringtheflamesarefullycovered.

Lifeexpectancyofthesetypesofextinguishercanvarybutanormwouldbe20–25secondsinthelargertypesand10–12secondsinthesmaller.Thereasonthistypesofextinguishersareusedisthereversatilityinthattheycanbeusedtoextinguishalltypesoffires.Securityofficersafterinstructionwillknowhowtoinstructstaffintheuseoftheseextinguishers.

Thehosesinthispropertyareall35metresinlength.37beingsituatedaroundtheproperty.Allaresituatedinsuchaawayastooverlap,thusallowingtwohosestobebroughttobearonafire.Withthehoseatmaximumpressure,awaterstreamof18metrescanbedirectedatthefire.Thenozzletypeisadjustabletobeabletospreadafogpatternonasmoulderingfireandtherebycauselesswaterdamage.
