定語(yǔ)從句復(fù)習(xí)提綱(2012)(教師版)※定語(yǔ)從句三步:第一找出先行詞;第二看先行詞在定語(yǔ)從句中的語(yǔ)法功能(做主語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)或狀語(yǔ));第三選擇合適的關(guān)系詞。一,只用that不用which的情況1,當(dāng)先行詞是all,little,few,much,something,everything,anything,nothing,none等不定代詞時(shí)。如:Everything

nightmare.Iwilltellhimallthatyoutoldmeattheball.2,當(dāng)先行詞被only,any,few,little,no,all,just,very(恰好的,表示強(qiáng)調(diào))等詞修飾時(shí)。例如:Theonlythingthatwecoulddowastowait.That’stheverythingthatwecando.3、當(dāng)先行詞是序數(shù)詞、形容詞最高級(jí)或先行詞被序數(shù)詞或形容詞最高級(jí)修飾時(shí)。例如:ThefirstplacethatwevisitedwastheGreatWall.ThisisthebestnovelthatIhaveeverread.4、被修飾詞為數(shù)詞時(shí)。例如:YesterdayIcaughttwofishandputtheminabasinofwater.Nowyoucanseethetwothatarestillalive.5、主句是Therebe結(jié)構(gòu),修飾主語(yǔ)的定語(yǔ)從句宜用that作關(guān)系代詞修飾物。例句:There’sstillaroomthatisfree.6、先行詞中同時(shí)包括人和物時(shí)。例如:Wetalkedaboutthepeopleandthevillagesthatweremembered.Heaskedaboutthefactoriesandworkersthathehadvisited.7、當(dāng)主句中有who,which時(shí),而定語(yǔ)從句中也要用到who或which時(shí),為了避免who…who,which…which等重疊,定語(yǔ)從句要用that引導(dǎo)。例如:Whoisthemanthatisstandingbythedoor?Whichofthetwocowsthatyoukeepproducesmoremilk?8、人或物在定語(yǔ)從句中作表語(yǔ)時(shí),用that引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,而that通常也可以省略。例如:Heisnolongerthemanthathewas.二,修飾物時(shí)只用which不用that的情況1,引導(dǎo)非限制性定語(yǔ)從句時(shí)。例如:Bambooishollow,whichmakesitlight.2,當(dāng)關(guān)系詞前有介詞時(shí)。例如:ThisistheroominwhichChairmanMaooncelived.3、在一個(gè)句子中有兩個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句,其中一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句的關(guān)系代詞用了that,另一個(gè)宜用which。例如:LetmeshowyouthenovelthatIborrowedfromthelibrarywhichwasnewlyopentous.4、當(dāng)關(guān)系代詞后面有插入語(yǔ)時(shí)。例如:HereistheEnglishgrammarwhich,asIhavetoldyou,willhelpimproveyourEnglish.5、先行詞為that時(shí)。例如:Theclockisthatwhichcantellusthetime.鐘是報(bào)時(shí)的裝置。三,修飾人時(shí)只用who不用that的情況1、先行詞為one,ones,anyone,those指代人時(shí)。如:ThepersonIwanttolearnfromisonewhostudieshardandworkswell.2、在Therebe結(jié)構(gòu)中,修飾主語(yǔ)的定語(yǔ)從句宜用關(guān)系代詞who指代人。例如:There’sagentlemanwhowantstoseeyou.3、當(dāng)先行詞有較長(zhǎng)的后置定語(yǔ)時(shí)。例如:ImetaforeignerintheparkyesterdayafternoonwhocouldspeakChineseverywell.4、一個(gè)句子中帶有兩個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句,其中一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句的關(guān)系代詞是that,另一個(gè)宜用who以避免重復(fù)。例如:Thestudentthatwaspraisedatyesterday’smeetingisthemonitorwhoisverymodestandworksveryhard.注意:當(dāng)關(guān)系代詞前面有介詞時(shí),只能用whom。例如:Thepersontowhomthisletterwasaddresseddiedthreeyearsago.四、way在定語(yǔ)從句作先行詞的用法當(dāng)先行詞為way,關(guān)系詞在從句中作狀語(yǔ)時(shí),定語(yǔ)從句的引導(dǎo)詞可用inwhich,that或省略引導(dǎo)詞。但如果關(guān)系詞在句中作主語(yǔ)或賓語(yǔ)時(shí),則用which或that引導(dǎo)。如:Thisistheway(that/inwhich)Idosuchthings.比較:Pleasedotheexperimentintheway(that/which)Ihaveshownyou.Idon’tliketheway(that/inwhich)helooksatme.Theway_that/inwhich/不填_heexplainedthesentencetouswasnotdifficulttounderstand.Theway_that/which/不填_heexplainedtouswasquitesimple.Whatsurprisedmewasnotwhathesaidbut_____hesaidit.(04湖北)A.thewayB.inthewaythatC.inthewayD.thewaywhich五、在定語(yǔ)從句中作狀語(yǔ)的關(guān)系副詞when,where,why的用法1、先行詞為"時(shí)間名詞",可用when引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,when在定語(yǔ)從句中作狀語(yǔ);還可以用which或that引導(dǎo),which或that在從句中作主語(yǔ)或賓語(yǔ)。比較:Istillrememberthedaywhen/onwhichmybrotherjoinedthearmy.(作狀語(yǔ))Nextmonth,whenyouwillbeinyourhometown,isjustaroundthecorner.Thereareoccasionswhenjokingisnotpermissible.Istillrememberthedayswhen(=onwhich)welivedtogether.Istillrememberthedayswhich/thatwespenttogether.(作賓語(yǔ))Nextwinterwhich/thatyou'llspendinHarbin,I'msure,willbeexciting.2、先行詞是"地點(diǎn)名詞",定語(yǔ)從句可用where引導(dǎo),where在從句中做狀語(yǔ);還可用which或that引導(dǎo),which/that在從句中作主語(yǔ)或賓語(yǔ)。比較:Thisisthefactorywhere/inwhichheworkedlastyear.(作狀語(yǔ))Thetreatmentwillcontinueuntilthepatientreachesthepointwherehecanwalkcorrectlyandsafely.Ithinkyouhavegottothepointwhereachangeisneeded,oryouwouldfail.Governmentreports,legalpapersandmostbusinesslettersarethemainsituationswhereEnglishisused.He'sgothimselfintoadangeroussituationwherehe'slikelytolosecontroloftheplane.Thesmallmountainvillagewherewespentourholidaylastmonthliesinwhat/theplacewhichisnowpartofHubei.Thisistheparkwhich/thattheyvisitedlastyear.(作賓語(yǔ))Nothavingbeentherebefore,hesimplyhadnoideaabouttheplace,whicheveryonesaysisworthvisiting.※如果定語(yǔ)從句分別修飾point,situation,part,condition和case等表示抽象意義的詞,常用where引導(dǎo),意思是“到了某種地步,在某種境況中”(前提是從句中缺少狀語(yǔ))。※“fromwhere”中的where是關(guān)系代詞,可以引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句。例如:Shestoodnearthenorthwindow,fromwhereshecouldseethewholegarden.(=throughwhich)Heclimbeduptothetopofthetemple,fromwherehecouldseenothingbuttrees.That’stheplacefromwheretheriverbranchesout.3、先行詞是表示原因的名詞reason時(shí),可以用why引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,why在定語(yǔ)從句中作原因狀語(yǔ),可用forwhich替代;當(dāng)關(guān)系詞在從句中作主語(yǔ)或賓語(yǔ)時(shí),則用which或that引導(dǎo)。如:Thereasonwhy/forwhichhedidn'tattendthemeetingwasthathewasill.(作狀語(yǔ))Canyoutellmethereasonwhy(=forwhich)youdidn’tfinishyourhomework?Idon'tbelievethereason(that/which)hegaveme.(作賓語(yǔ))Haveyouaskedhimthereasonthatmayexplainhissuccess?(作主語(yǔ))比較Hewaslate.That'sbecausehegotuplate.Hegotuplate.That'swhyhewaslate.(表語(yǔ)從句)六、whose引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句whose引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句時(shí),其先行詞可以指人,也可以指物,當(dāng)先行詞指物時(shí),可以用“the+名詞+ofwhich”或者“ofwhichthe+名詞”代替“whose+名詞”結(jié)構(gòu)。例如:Hestudiesinaschoolwhosebuildings(=thebuildingsofwhich)arebuiltontopofahill.七、as作關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)的定語(yǔ)從句1、引導(dǎo)限制性定語(yǔ)從句。在主句中常有thesame,so或such與as相呼應(yīng),(thesame…as;thesameas;such…as…;so…as)as在定語(yǔ)從句中可作主語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)、主語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)等。as引出的定語(yǔ)從句帶有比較意義,從句常常只寫(xiě)出比較部分,但as本身不可省略。例如:Heusedsuchexpressionsashecouldfindinthetexts.Theystayedforthenightinthesameroomastheyhadoncerented.Herattitudetohimwasquitethesameasithadalwaysbeen.Wewillonlydiscusssuchproblemsashavesomethingtodowithourowninterests.Don'tdosuchthingsasyouarenotsureabout.Thereisnosuchplaceasyoudreamofinallthisworld.※比較:(1)Hereissobigastoneasnoonecanlift.(定語(yǔ)從句)Itissobigastonethatnoonecanliftit.(結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句)(2)Heissuchapersonaseverybodylikes.Heissuchapersonthateverybodylikeshim.(3)ThisissotouchingastoryasIhavereadthreetimes.ThisissotouchingastorythatIhavereaditthreetimes.※注意:在thesame…后也可用that引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,但含義有所不同。that引出的從句,指的是與先行詞同一的事物,而as引導(dǎo)的從句指的是與先行詞同類(lèi)的事物。例如:ThisisthesamebagasIlostyesterday.ThisisthesamebagthatIlostyesterday.Iliveinthesamehousethatheusedtolivein.I'mwearingthesameshirtasyouworeyesterday.2、引導(dǎo)非限制性定語(yǔ)從句。指主句的全部或部分內(nèi)容。常譯為“正如……”“就像……”等,定語(yǔ)從句可以置于主句之前、之中或之后。as后常接expect,know,report,expect,pointout,say,see等動(dòng)詞的主、被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)。Asweallknow,smokingisharmfultoone'shealth.(as作賓語(yǔ))=Asisknowntoall,smokingisharmfultoone'shealth.(as作主語(yǔ))=It'sknowntoallthatsmokingisharmfultoone'shealth.(主語(yǔ)從句)或:Smokingisharmfultoone'shealth,asweallknow.(as作賓語(yǔ))或:Smoking,asweallknow,isharmfultoone'health.Hewasaforeigner,asIknewfromhisaccent.(賓語(yǔ),先行詞是前面整個(gè)句子)Asisknowntoeverybody,themoontravelsroundtheearthonceeverymonth.Hewasn’tunconscious,ascouldbejudgedfromhiseyes.注意:as,which引導(dǎo)非限制性定語(yǔ)從句的區(qū)別:1)、都可以代整個(gè)主句,相當(dāng)于andthis或andthat.2)、as從句可放在句首,而which從句不能。3)、as代表前面的整個(gè)主句并在從句中作主語(yǔ)時(shí),從句中的謂語(yǔ)必須是系動(dòng)詞;如果為行為動(dòng)詞,則從句中的關(guān)系代詞只能用which.例如:Itrainedhardyesterday,whichpreventedmefromgoingtothepark.八、of短語(yǔ)作為定語(yǔ)從句的先行詞的情況“oneofthe+復(fù)數(shù)名詞”這一結(jié)構(gòu)后面的定語(yǔ)從句中的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞,通常用復(fù)數(shù)形式,與定語(yǔ)從句所靠近的那個(gè)復(fù)數(shù)名詞在數(shù)上保持一致。但如果“oneofthe+復(fù)數(shù)名詞”這一結(jié)構(gòu)前面帶有the/only/theonly之類(lèi)的限定語(yǔ),從句的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞則要用單數(shù)形式,此時(shí)從句在意義上修飾的是theone.例如:Tomisoneoftheboyswhowerelatethatmorning.湯姆是那天早晨遲到的男生之一。Tomisthe(only/theonly)oneoftheboyswhowaslatethatmorning.湯姆是那天早上唯一遲到的男生。HeistheonlyoneofthestudentswhoDawinnerofscholarshipforthreeyears.A.isB.areC.havebeenD.hasbeen【2002春上?!烤牛环指舻亩ㄕZ(yǔ)從句定語(yǔ)從句一般緊接被它所修飾的先行詞;但有時(shí)候它和先行詞之間有可能插入其他成分,使它與先行詞分隔開(kāi)來(lái),這種定語(yǔ)從句叫作被分隔的定語(yǔ)從句。一般說(shuō)來(lái),定語(yǔ)從句被分割開(kāi)來(lái)大致有以下三種:①在先行詞與定語(yǔ)從句之間插入一個(gè)狀語(yǔ)。如:Therearemanythousandsofstarsintheskythatarelikethesun.②在先行詞與定語(yǔ)從句之間插入一個(gè)定語(yǔ)。如:DoyourememberoneafternoontenyearsagowhenIcametoyourhouseandborrowedadiamondnecklace?③先行詞與定語(yǔ)從句被謂語(yǔ)分隔開(kāi)來(lái)。此時(shí),先行詞通常是句子的主語(yǔ),因定語(yǔ)從句較長(zhǎng),主句謂語(yǔ)較短,為使句子平衡,常將定語(yǔ)從句移至謂語(yǔ)之后。如:AnewmasterwillcometomorrowwhowillteachyouGerman.十,“介詞+關(guān)系代詞”考點(diǎn)分析總的說(shuō)來(lái),選擇介詞不外乎三條:一是根據(jù)句子意思表達(dá)的需要,二是根據(jù)從句中動(dòng)詞或形容詞與介詞的習(xí)慣搭配,三是根據(jù)先行詞和介詞的習(xí)慣搭配。1.考查定語(yǔ)從句中謂語(yǔ)部分的搭配習(xí)慣(1)看定語(yǔ)從句中動(dòng)詞與介詞的搭配Thedocumentsforwhichtheyweresearchinghavebeenrecovered.Thisisasubjectaboutwhichwemightargueforalongwhile.IwantedtofindsomeonewithwhomIcoulddiscussbooksandmusic.注:有一些介詞為固定搭配的一部分,此時(shí)它們的位置應(yīng)注意。如:Theboy(whom)mysisterislookingafterisgettingbetter.不能說(shuō)成:Theboyafterwhommysisterislookingisgettingbetter.(2)看定語(yǔ)從句中形容詞或分詞與介詞的搭配HereferredmetosomereferencebookswithwhichIamnotveryfamiliar.2.考查先行詞與介詞的搭配習(xí)慣這類(lèi)考題往往要根據(jù)具體的語(yǔ)境來(lái)選擇介詞。如:Thisisourclassroom,inthefrontofwhichthereisateacher’sdesk.I’llneverforgetthedayonwhichshesaidgoodbyetome.3,考查根據(jù)句意確定介詞Tom,bywhomthewindowwasbroken,hasbeencriticizedbyhisteacher.Iamlookingformyglasses,withoutwhichIcan’twatchTVclearly.4.考查表示所屬關(guān)系的ofwhich[whom]Ontheblackboardtheteacherwroteasentence,themeaningofwhichIdon’tunderstand.5.考查表示整體與部分關(guān)系的ofwhich[whom]IhavefiveEnglishdictionariesofwhichLongmanDictionaryisthebest.Thebuses,mostofwhichwerealreadyfull,weresurroundedbyanangrycrowd.Imetthefruit-pickers,severalofwhomwereuniversitystudents.6.考查表示同位關(guān)系的ofwhich[whom]Hersons,bothofwhomworkabroad,rangherupthismorning.高考中部分定語(yǔ)從句中“介詞+關(guān)系代詞”結(jié)構(gòu)。01.Ericreceivedtrainingincomputerforoneyear,___B__hefoundajobinabigcompany.(遼寧)A.afterthatB.afterwhich
