e.g.:TomisoneoftheboysthatarefromtheUS.TomistheonlyboythatisfromtheUS.2.在從句中作賓語時(shí),可省略。關(guān)系代詞前有介詞時(shí),不能省略。

e.g.:Maryisthegirlforwhich(不可省略)I'mwaiting.Thisisthestory(that/which)(可省略)Ireadinthatbook.3.當(dāng)先行詞既有人又有物時(shí),引導(dǎo)定語從句的關(guān)系代詞用that而不用who或which。

e.g.:Theytalkedforanhourofthingsandpersonsthattheyrememberedintheschool.4.當(dāng)先行詞前有everything,all,theonly,thelast,thevery等修飾時(shí),定語從句的關(guān)系代詞用which。

e.g.:Hewasthefirstmanthatpassedtheexam.5.關(guān)系詞前有介詞時(shí),只能用which,不用that。
