OnahotsummerdayinlastAugust,IsoughtshadeandacooldrinkatawaterfrontcaféonaGreekisland.Overahundreddegreesin______air. A.fresh B.cool C.still D.thin解析:C。 Themanstepped___1___forthetwochairs.Hepolitely___2___hisladyintheknee-deepwaterandthensatdownhimself.1.A.outside B.forward C.down D.back2.A.led B.seated C.watched D.received解析:1.D。 例1:WhenEdfirstphonedand______weplay,Ilaughedquietly… A.declared B.mentioned C.persuaded D.suggested解析:D。 A.studies B.studying C.study D.studied解析:C。 Oneday,thegirl___1___intotheplane,starteditandsoonleftthe___2___. 1.A.climbed B.looked C.reached D.fell2.A.house B.floor C.water D.ground解析:1.A。2.D。 例:However,thetypicalteenagelifestyleisalreadyfilledwithsomuchcompetitionthatitwouldbe___1___toplanactivitiesinwhichtherearemorewinnersthanlosers,___2___,publishingnewsletterswithmanystudent-writtenbookreviews,___3___studentartwork,andsponsoringbookdiscussionclubs.3.A.displayingB.describingC.creatingD.exchanging解析:A。 Hepausedforjustasecond,walkedintothewaterto______thetableand…… A.set B.wash C.remove D.check解析:A。 例2.Withit,astronautswillacquireaworkhousevehicle______offlyingintospaceandreturningmanytimes. A.capable B.suitable C.efficient D.fit解析:A。 do(ajob,work,shopping,cooking,reading,typing,sewing,good,wrong,damage,harm,afavor,aninjury,etc.)make(astudy,anappointment,arrangements,abreakthrough,acall,acomparison,contribution,adeal,adecision,adiscovery,distinction,aguess,preparations,astart,astart,asurvey,anattempt,anerror,aprofit,afortune,aliving,one’sway,sense,point,peace,bed,coffee,afuss,etc.)2)形容詞與名詞的搭配有的具有一定的文化背景,學(xué)生要注意“貌合神離”的詞語(yǔ)。 如:pitchdark(漆黑的)、brandnew(嶄新的)、crystalclear(水晶般的)、wideopen(張得大大的)、fastasleep(睡得很熟的)、wideawake(完全醒著的)、icycold(冰冷的),etc.4)有些形容詞可以和不同的介詞搭配,學(xué)生應(yīng)注意比較、歸納。 例1:Firstofallhewasawindow-cleanerandinhisfirstweekhemanagedto______sixwindows.A.rub B.drop C.break D.clean解析:D。 如:some…,others;ononehand…,ontheotherhand;former…,latter;so…that;notonly…butalso;hardly/scarcely…when…;nosooner…than…;beabouttodo/bedoing/haddone/beonthepointofdoing/betodo/bereadytodo/beontheway…when…;例2:Iputmyheadin,expectingtheworst.Buttomysurprise,theroomwasn’temptyatall.Ithadfurniture,curtains,aTV,andevenpaintingsonthewall.Andthenonthewell-madebedsatAmy,mynew______,dressedneatly.A.roommate B.classmate C.neighbor D.companion解析:A。 3:Wewere______togobackforclassagainwhentheheadmastercalledustogetherandsaid,…A.about B.able C.sorry D.sure解析:A。結(jié)構(gòu)同現(xiàn),beabouttodo…when…。 A.sentences B.passages C.1essons D.classes解析:A。 故選A。例2:Somepartsofthewaterareveryshallow.Butinsomeplacesitisvery______. A.deep B.high C.cold D.dangerous解析:A。 Yetmuchhadhappened__1__.Aswasdiscussedbefore,itwasnot__2__the19thcenturythatthenewspaperbecamethedominantpre-electronic__3__.1.A.betweenB.beforeC.sinceD.later2.A.afterB.byC.duringD.until3.A.meansB.methodC.mediumD.measure解析:1.A.2.D.3.C。 遞進(jìn)inaddition,furthermore,again,also,besides,moreover,what’smore,what’sworse,tomakemattersworse,tomakethingsworse,worsestill2.比較inthesameway,aswith,similarly,equally,incomparison,justas3.對(duì)照incontrast,ontheotherhand,instead,however,nevertheless,unlike,onthecontrary,while4.因果because,becauseof,for,since,dueto,owingto,thanksto,asaresult(of),so,thus5.強(qiáng)調(diào)certainly,aboveall,indeed,ofcourse,surely,actually,asamatteroffact,especially,inparticular,absolutely,6.讓步although,though,afterall,inspiteof7.舉例forexample,forinstance,thatis,namely,suchas,inotherwords,inthiscase,bywayofillustration.8.時(shí)間和空間afterward,after,first,later,then,soon,finally,atlastoutside,near,beyond,above,below,ontheright(left),inthemiddle,opposite,infrontof9.總結(jié)tosumup,toconclude,inaword,inshort,inbrief,allinall,inall,insummary例1:IthasbeenmanyyearssinceIwaslastinLondon______Istillremembersomethingthathappenedduringthatvisit. A.and B.for C.but D.as解析:C。 Manypeople______believeinbeingonthe"safeside"andthustakeextravitamins.A.neverthelessB.thereforeC.moreoverD.meanwhile解析:A。 Thelivingroomwaslargeenoughfortheirpiano.Thatnight,thetwoofthem41sidebysideatthepiano.Theyplayedjazzmusictocelebratetheirnewhome.Theloud42filledtheroomandmadethemfeelveryhappy.Thenextmorning,43,theirhappinessdisappeared.Someonehadlefta44undertheirdoorduringthenight.Oneoftheirneighborhadwrittentocomplain(抱怨)aboutthesoundofthepiano.Dario’smotheraskedthebuildingsuperintendent(管理員)ifheknewanythingaboutit.Buthesaidthattheywereall45peopleandhecouldn’timagineanyofthemhaddonethat.Laterthatmorning,Dariosuggestedthattheywritealettertotheir46andapologizefortheirplaying.“Maybewecouldgoand47everyoneinperson.”hismothersaid.“Whatifweinvitedthemtocomeherefora48instead?Darioasked.Theybothlovedthe49.Overthenextfewdays,theysentoutinvitationsandprepareddesserts50theirguests.Theydecoratedtheapartmentwithstreamers(彩帶)andpartylights.Finally,thedayoftheparty51.Someguestsbroughtpresents.Othersbroughtflowers.Someevenbroughtdessertsto52.Onewoman,Mrs.Gilbert,53Dario’smotherwithabookofpianomusicbyChopin.“Iheardyouplayingtheothernight,”shesaid.“Thesoundswokemeoutofbed.I54thatyoumightplaylikethiseverynight.SoIwroteashortnote.Ihopeyoudon’tthinkIdislikedtheplaying.”Dario’smothersmiledatMrs.Gilbert.“Ithinkmaybewe55youanapology.”shesaid.“Ididn’t56howlateitwaswhenwewereplaying.Maybeweshouldplaysomequietermusicatnight.“Youplay,youplay!”Mrs.Gilbertsaid.“Ilikewhatyouplay!Justnotsoloudatnight.”Shepointedtothebookshehadgiventhem.“Thesesongsarenotsuch57music.”“Thesesongsarebeautifulmusic.”Dario’smothersaid.“Wewillbe58toplaythemintheevening.”“Andwewon’tplaysoloudorlate!”Dariosaid.Hewasalreadylookingforwardto59thenewmusic.Morethanthat,however,hewashappytoseethebigsmileonhismother’sface.Itgavehimafeelingof60andmadehimfeelthattheywerehomeatlast.41.A.sat
