Oracle’sSiebelConnectorforIFXXMLprovidesintegrationbetweenSiebelBusinessApplicationsandothersystems.TheconnectormakesuseoftheIFXBusinessSpecificationdocumentVersion1.0.1,afinancialindustrystandardXMLspecification.

TheSiebelConnectorforIFXXMLreceives,parses,andprocessesthebusinessoperationsspecifiedintheXMLmessage.Ithandlesbothoutboundandinboundmessages.

Thisintegrationofferspowerfulcapabilitiesdesignedtosupportcommunicationbetweenafinancialinstitutionanditscustomers,itsserviceproviders,andotherfinancialinstitutions.Eventuallyitwillsupportdirectcommunicationbetweenafinancialinstitutionanditscustomers.ThissolutionallowsyoutoeffectivelyharnessthesynergiesbetweenSiebelfrontofficeapplicationsandIFX-basedapplications.TheSiebelConnectorforIFXXMLextendsSiebelapplicationstointegratewithbackofficedataandbusinessprocesses.

TheSiebelConnectorforIFXXMLsupportsbothsynchronousandasynchronoustransactionsacrossapplicationboundaries.Theresultingconsistencyandsharingofdataenablesefficientcoordinationbetweenfrontandbackofficeoperations.Forexample,acustomercanrequestabalanceinquiryinSiebelFinancialServicesEnterpriseApplicationsandreceivereal-timeresponsefromanIFX-enabledbankingapplicationwithinthebank.Similarly,anindividualaccountholdermaybankfromhomeusingasecureconnectionoverthepublicInternettoconnecttothefinancialinstitution’sSiebelBusinessApplication.Therequestmessage,sentfromthecustomer’spersonalcomputerathome,mayenterthefinancialinstitution’sprivatedatanetworkforprocessingorberoutedtoathird-partyserviceproviderthatprocessesthatmessageonbehalfofthefinancialinstitution.Regardlessoftheorganizationthatactuallyprocessesthemessageorwhatcomputingandnetworkarchitecturethatorganizationhasinstalled,thecustomerreceivesaresponsemessagewithstandardsemantics.

AlloftheconnectorcomponentsareSiebelbusinessservices.Businessservicesexecutepredefinedorcustomizedactionsinaworkflowprocess.ExamplesofbusinessservicesincludetheFINSIFXXMLTransactionManager,SiebelEAIAdapter,andtheFINSIFXConverter.

Siebelbusinessservicesactonpropertysetspassedtothem.Theyperformbusinesslogicoperationssuchasinterfacingwithadatabase,interfacingtoIFX-basedsystems,ortransformingoneintegrationobjectintoanother.

Businessserviceshaveobject-likequalities,suchasmethods,methodarguments,anduserproperties.Theseelementsdefinehowabusinessservicecanbeused.Althoughbusinessservicescanbeusedtoperformmanydifferentfunctions,theyallhaveastandardinterface.
