2cationfrOverthelasttwodecades,theWorldBank1hascommittedmorethanUS$73billion2toaseveryonewiththeopportunitytogettheeducationtheyneedtosucceed.Thenumbersl15%14%2215%14%22%24%%Thislatestfiscalyear,theWorldBankalsocontinuedtobethelargestimplementingagencyofGlobalTechnicaleducationTechnicaleducationandskillsdevelopmentildhoodeducationTertiaryTertiaryeducationeducationSecondaryeducationndsinBillionsUS$inBillionsUS$cannotreadandunderstandasimpletext.Weareworkingtowardthetargetbyhelpingcountriesbuildnds-20002001200220032004200520062007200820092010201120122013201420152016201720182019202020212022andgrantsWehelpcountriesshareandapplyinnovativesolutionstoeducationchallenges,enresearchandpractice.o whentheyjointheworkforce.Thelearningcrisisisunderminingcountries’SCOInstituteforStatisticstointroducetheconceptofLearningPoverty—thepercentageofchildrenunabletoreadandunderstandasimpletextbyage10.Evenbeforethepandemic,progresshadstalled:LearningPovertysisDGofprimaryandsecondarystudentsinlow-andmiddle-incomecountriesriskslosing$11flifetimeearningsinpresentvalueUnlessurgentactionistakenlearninglosseslongerschoolclosures.jeopardizingtheachievementofSDG4000esto everychildlearningandkeeplevelslythandwell-beingsorandacceleratelearning:andlearningmaterials.fordistanceandhybridlearning,andongoingcommunicationbetweenstudents,parents,andteachers.ddresstheimpactsofthepandemiconclassroomassessmentsthatallowforimmediateaccesstolearninggapdataataeDataonLearningPovertyismissingforalmost2in5school-agedchildreninlow-incomegdatagapsthroughtheLearningDataCompact,acommitmenttoensurethatalledbytTeachistheWorldBanksopenaccessclassroomobservationtoolasbeenimplementedincountries,reachingatleast200,000students.illsandtechnologycanbeacriticalelementtoimprovetheeffectivenessofteachers,principals,andschools.TheWorldBankworkstodiscoveracrosspolicymakers.ctaimstobuildfutureresilienceintheeducationsystem,bycreatinganewhybridlearningtoeducationdata.andotherstakeholderstodevelopandimplementeffectiveandefficientpublicfinancialystemsbuildcapacitytomonitorevaluateandprojecteducationspendingntheeducationsectorWorldBank,theGlobalEducationMonitoringReport,andtheUNESCOInstituteissuesinducationfinancingaroundtheworldOurapproachtoeducationinfragility,conflict,andviolence(FCVOurapproachtoeducationinfragility,conflict,andviolence(FCV)contextsstartswith(2)remainengagedinthesecontextsthroughhumanitariansupport;(3)buildresiliencyinstconflictsettingsandaddresstheneedsofimpactedcommunitiestheWorldBankfinancessupporttoteachers,schoolmeals,schoolsupplies,andelpsrehabilitateschoolinfrastructuretermmishelpingtheministryestablishitsNationalcaseresearchgrantsinclimatechangeresearchanddevelopmentprojects,and2ResearchCentersofExcellenceinfieldsaddressingclimatechangeissues.?Lifeskillstraininganddigitalliteracyeducation,providinginformationonhealthandsafety.lministries.onImprovingEarlyChildhoodDevelopmentOutcomesinRuraltionssgBUILDINGCENTERSOFEXCELLENCEINAFRICATOADDRESSREGIONALDEVELOPMENTCHALLENGESSince2014,theAfricaHigherEducationCentersofExcellence(ACE)Programhasbecomesynonymouswithdeliveringqualityandrelevantpost-graduateeducationthatmeetsthedemandforskillsinpriorityfields.dAdobeStock ledWhileCOVID-19poseshugechallenges,thecrisisoffersanopportunitytotransformandreimagineeducation,andtostartrealizingavisionfortheHYPERLINK"/en/topic/education/publication/realizing-future-of-learning-from-learning-poverty-to
