金門大橋是世界著名大橋之一，被譽(yù)為近代橋梁工程的一項(xiàng)奇跡。

它座落于美國加利福尼亞州的金門海峽之上。大橋兩端各有一座高1124英尺的鋼塔，鋼塔高出水面的部分為746英尺，相當(dāng)于70層樓高。兩座鋼塔間懸掛著兩條直徑為36.5英寸的鋼索，大橋就是憑借著兩條鋼索高懸半空。鋼塔間的大橋跨度為4200英尺，是世界大橋中少見的最長跨度之一。橋孔高200英尺，大型船只也能暢行無阻。大橋還向兩端延伸出去，使整個(gè)大橋全長達(dá)到6500英尺，為此又修建了兩座輔助鋼塔，使大橋更加雄偉壯觀。
