They must

3、learn to say yes and say no to an invitation and give their reasons.3 Moral objectsWe teach this lesson in order to learn how to accept or refuse an invitation of foreign countries politely. It will teach the students good manners. Students also learn to arrange their life properly.II. Teaching impo

7、ng, take my son to a piano lesson, visit my parents, help my son study for a test, , T: Whatre your plans for this weekend? What are you doing this weekend? What do you have to do ? Ask several students individually. Help them to answer with “I have to”Ask Students to make plans for this weekend as

8、teacher does. If have nothing important to do on Saturday afternoon , they just write “free” under Saturday afternoon.Before students writing, offer as many phrases as possible . E.g. babysit my sister, do homework , go shopping, exercise, Step 3 reportStudents in groups of four and report their pla

9、ns to the other members in their groups one by one.Ask one student to report like this as an example . Im busy this weekend. I have toThese three steps introduce the key phrases in a natural way and students start to use them in making their plans.Step 4 A GameA guessing game” What do I have to do t

10、his weekend?”Take out some small pieces of paper with some phrases written on. Ask one student to draw a piece of paper and act it out. The others guess what he has to do for this weekend. Help Ss ask like this: Do you have to finish your homework?The guessing game can raise Ss learning interestStep

11、 5 PresentationT: Do you still remember what I have to do on Saturday afternoon? Ss: You have to go shopping in the afternoon.T: Yeah Why do I have to buy so much delicious food? So Ill try to ask some other children. they are Tim, Ted, Kay, Anna and Wilson. Lets listen to our conv

14、ersations and write the names (Tim, Ted, Kay, Anna and Wilson) in the pictures.Get Ss to listen carefully and check the answer.Step 7 Listening (2a, 2b)T: Its still a small party. So Ill ask five more students to come. Can they come? Lets listen to five short conversations. Circle can or cant.Play t

15、he recording and then check the answers.Ask one student to read the sentences in 2b. play the recording again and get the students to number the reasons why people cant go to the party.Help the students complete the task individually.These two listening activities give Ss listening practice in under

16、standing the target language in spoken conversation.Ss have got a lot of importation.Ss are ready for the following oral practice.Step 8 GroupworkAsk Ss to work in groups of 6, suppose student1 is going to the movies on Sunday afternoon. He is making invitations and the other five Ss response polite

17、ly according to their schedules they finished at the beginning of the class . Get a group of Ss to demonstrate the conversation first. encourage Ss to use either I have to do or Im doing to explain planned actions.Remind them to say Thanks for asking or thats too bad. Maybe another time.Ask Ss to pr

18、actice the conversation in groups.S1 must write down why they cant go to the movies.This activity provides the Ss a chance to use English freely. They can say their conversation according to their planned actions. Also, it guides the Ss to study English by communicating in a real language situation.

Its close to Ss everyday life.Step 9 Presentation and exchange program Ask Student1 in Group1: who did you invite?Then ,can Lucy come?No, she cant , she has to Ask the student to go to Group2. then the student

20、s in group 2 ask the new studentr whether the Ss in group1 can go to the movies just as the teacher did. And at the same time, the student who makes invitations in group2 goes to Group1.So do the other groups.This activity guides the Ss to practise the third singular person “heshe has to” in a real

21、situation insead of meaningless drills. Because there is an information gap in the new-formed group.Step10 an activity “l(fā)et me be a movie star”Let Ss watch a movie segment of Beauty and the Beast.T: the Beast is not polite to the Beauty. He says, you will join me for dinner!So the Beauty says no. No

22、w I want to change the conversation into a more polite one. I want the Beast to be a gentleman. When he is inviting the Beauty to have dinner, he should say, can you and the beauty says sorry with a good reason. Make up your conversation and practice it with your partner just like the Beauty and the

23、 Beast. At last Ill let you do the voice and choose the best conversation and the best actor and actress.This step will raise Ss interest. And it priovides the Ss who have talents in acting a good chance to show themselves.Step 11 Grammar FocusT: Its time for Grammar focus. Get Ss to repeat. And explain we can use “can” with any person without any changes. These ate all invitations, so we should answer them in a very politely way.
