Today I want to talk about the main task of unit4 from Sample A Book 8, Fun With English. It includes four parts.1. The Analysis of the textboo

Evaluation and ReflectionI: The Analysis of the textbook 1). the contents1. The part of the main task in the fourth unit starts the
3、topic according to the animals It is a training in listening, speaking, reading and writing ability of students.2. To make the students learn to observe and to take an interest in the animals, Describing the animals about their appearance, ability, character, food and danger. so that they can learn
4、to organize and present factual information in a report。3. To learn to express ones own opinion about animals in danger4. To do something for the animals in danger2)The teaching aims (the knowledge , the abilities and the emotions )A: The aims of the knowledge : to master the different appearance, a
5、bility, character, food and danger of the animals B: The aims of the abilities : to improve the abilities of reading, hearing, speaking and writing. Learn to express one s own opinion.C: The aims of the emotion: improve their love for the animals in order to raise the consciousness of the student
6、9;s protection of the wild animals.3) The teaching points and the difficultiesA: The points of this lesson; to master the five aspects of the animals: appearance, ability, character, food and danger. Words such as peaceful, sharp and so on.B: The difficulties of this lesson: the description of the f
7、ive aspects of the animals, the training of writing.II. The teaching methods and the waysA: Teaching the students by the five teaching steps gradually to emphasize the contents . The teacher is to act the guide and the students as an actor to do the activities.Teaching methods: Multiple Intelligence
8、 / Task-based Learning/ Cooperative Language Learning/ Integrated Language Learning B: In class we can use the modern teaching equipments to make the class interesting and lively.Analysis of the students: Based on the English Course Guide and the English level of Grade 8 students. St
9、udents have got some knowledge about endangered animals from reading and integrated skills, But they dont know much. Meanwhile, Ill pay attention to develop the Ss interest in English and provide the Ss with a good environment and expand some other information about using English.III. Teaching proce
10、dure and the aims of the design:Step 1: Warming-up: “Do you love animals? Lets watch a short video to see how can we live together with animals.” Play a short video to let students feel how harmoniously when we live with animals. And animals can laugh, can cry, can play like people. They also need l
11、ove and care. Then ask students to introduce our friends-animals (This activity can be organized after Period 4. Get 2-3 students to introduce the animals we have already learned. Encourage the students to use the first person to talk about the animals. Tell them to talk about the five aspects: appe
12、arance, ability, character, food and other things. )(If students dont mention the dangers they are facing, T may encourage them to say what they know. and show what the birds are saying.) Talk with the students from the animals around us. while leading into the topic of the text.Make an active
13、and friendly classroom atmosphere.Fluent leading-in.Step 2. Presentation Telling students, pandas are in danger now. Show a picture of a giant panda. Get students to describe it. Listen to Millies report, do a listening exercise about pandas. According to the passage ,work in groups to finish five a
14、spects about giant pandas:Appearance: beautiful black and white;look like a bear/a white mouse(be born)Character: quiet and peacefulLifestyle: eat bamboo shoots and leaves; never eat meat/drink mums milk; have one or two babies at a timeDangers: Farmers keep taking their land; have nowhere to live;h
15、unters hunt them for their furActions: write to newspapers and magazines;let more people know about the problems;ask people to do something to helpTo present the passage in a created listening situation. Let students to grasp some information about giant pandas.Work in pairs; Get the students to tal
16、k about giant pandas, looking at the table above. Help students to build up a clear image of animals by talking about five aspects of the animals.Step 3 Reading more:Show the students a picture of a bear, let students have a competition about what can they say about bears: Their appearance: black an
17、d white, quiet and peacefulTheir food: mothers milk, bamboo shoots and leavesThe dangers they are facing: No place to live in, people hunt themThen read it slowly and complete the table.What should we do when we want to write a report about animals?S: -. T: Yes, putting down some notes is very impor
18、tant.To excite students image, let students describe the animals by using what we have learned. Then skimming:Focus on the information of main parts.Guide students how to write a report. And give a report about bears by speaking.Step4: expand:Show some pictures about dolphins. Let students know some
19、 knowledge about what happened around us.Then also show some pictures about some famous persons, to show what actions they are taking.Then Show a short video about Jacky Chan. Encourage students to repeat what Jacky Chan said. You can have a Brain storm. Let students to have a competition in groups
20、to repeat the sentences. Let students get more real information about endangered animals, not only about pandas, but also about many other animals. Show something around us to affect students emotions.Watching, Repeating, Competitions to make students more creative, more undistracted, more cooperati
21、ve, open-minded, and reflective. Step 5 Writing and describe what you write.First, get the students to work out the notes. Then, write and if possible, get the students to report orally in class. Remind the students to think of more way to help the animals in danger. Guide students to choose one of
22、endangered animals to write a report. if time permits, encourage the students to report orally in class.Step 6 : A proverb: Nature never deceives us; it is always us who deceive ourselves. Let students remember what we have learned today.Encourage students to take actions to protect the endangered a
