Listen to the

7、 English song When Christmas comes to town together.( PPT shows pictures.) Then have them answer the questions: What festival is the song about? What do you know about the festival?( PPT Show some pictures about Christmas to help them while answering). Step 2 Pre-reading (about 5 minutes) ( PPT )Pre

8、sent some questions and have students discuss in groups and creat a mind map about Christmas.activitiesDate Christmas storiessymbols Have each group present their mind maps and introduce them to the class. Step 3 While-reading Have the students read the questions in 2b.Then get them to scan the pass

9、age to find out or infer the answers to the questions individually. If students meet any difficulties, the teacher helps to solve them. Ask different students to answer each questions in 2b. Check the answers with the class. Have students go through the chart in 2c, then read the story again and wha

10、t Scrooge sees when he is with different ghosts complete the chart. Check the answers in class. Step 4 After reading (about 6 minutes) Ask the students read the passage after the mp3( PPT ) by themselves. Then give several minutes to the students and encourage them to retell the passage with their o

11、wn words. Have the students answer the questions in 2d.Remind them that some answers need to be inferred. Ask several students to give their answers, and check them with the class. Step 5 Make a survey (about 4 minutes) Do a survey. Let students make some notes to finish the chart about their favorite Chinese festival in 3a.Then fill in the chart.
