3、tures , draw stick figures on the board or mime actions like fishing, shopping, etc. ask the students what are these people doing? encourage the students to answer e.g. he is fishing. she is listening to cds. revise other verbs the students know using the pictures or mimes, eg. drawing or painting,

4、playing football and other games, eating, swimming, watching tv. 3. write the verbs for the activities. ask the students what do you want to do this weekend? when they give me an answer, say ok./ good idea. lets go to 4. show transparency. play the cassette and point to the speech bubbles. ask the s

5、tudents to repeat after the cassette. step2. practice: 1. books open. play the tape . point to the people on the page and revise or teach the verbs and the places. read aloud or play the tape for the illustrated conversations. ask the students to repeat the words after me. 2. ask the students to wor

6、k in pairs to ask each other and answer about what they want to do. 3. workbook (p1): tell the students to read the words in the box and look at the pictures of childrens activities. then ask the students to complete the sentences by choosing the correct words from the box. check the answers with th

11、riends. step2. practice: 1. show transparency. play the cassette. point out to the students that when someone likes a hobby or activity and often does it, we put ing on the verb, e.g. allan likes playing the piano. write the sentences on the board and ask the students to underline the ing endings on

12、 the verbs. 2. tell the students to read the letter again. adk them to complete tims notes about allans hobbies by writing either likes or doesnt like next to each of the activities. 3. ask the students to work in pairs and take turns to make sentences using the notes to check if they have the same

13、answers. step3. role-play: ask the students to ask their partner what do you do in your spare time? encourage them to make notes similar to the ones about allans hobbies. ask one of the partners to stand up and tell me about the other one, using he/ she likes ing. strep4. practice: workbook (p2): 1.

33、t sounds used in the spoken language. give them an example, e.g. letter a says different things in these words: apple, play, arm, camera, hair, etc. 2. write the symbols for long and short i on the board. explain that they have no name, only a sound. the sound can be written in many ways. write the

34、words on the page under each symbol. ask the students to tell me other words with same sounds and add them to the list.3. play the tape and ask the students to listen to the sounds and the words. 4. say the words slowly and clearly. check that the students are making a distinction between the short

35、and the long vowel sounds correctly. 5. point to the pictures and check that the students can say the words without my model. 6. play the tape again. ask the students to listen to the rhyme. 7. play the tape again. ask the students to join in with the words of the rhyme this time. 8. play the tape.
