7、y rise to the same land day after day.答案:A解析 推理判斷題 由文章第五句中“.most coast lines have two tides a day and the tides occur fifty minutes later each day. 故選A。
2. Tides would _ if the pull of the moon equaled the pull of
14、 the sun.A.be the same height as they are nowB.be of equal height all the timeC.sometimes be higher than they are nowD.no longer be affected by the wind答案:C解析 推理判斷題 由文章內(nèi)容可知,當(dāng)太陽和月亮在合適的角度相互吸引時(shí),潮水會(huì)變低,而太陽的引力只有月亮的一半。 C。 Passage 2 During the Christmas shopping rush in London,
15、 a story was reported of a tramp (流浪者) who, apparently through no fault of his own, found himself locked in a well-known chain store late on Christmas Eve. The staff were dead beat in the first paragraph means that they were _.A.woundedB.exhaustedC.irritableD.forgetful答案:B解析 詞語理解題 根據(jù)上下文來看,商店里人滿為患,職工肯定是累壞了,而與wounded(受傷),irritable(不安的),forgetful(健忘的)等詞無關(guān)。 3. 31、wing pages the performance of American agriculture is examined.
