3、udents can use reading strategies such as predicting what the passage is mainly about, skimming the main idea of the passage and scanning the specific in formati on from the passage in readi ng process. 2) Stude nts can get the main ideas and specific information about the festivals and celebrations

8、 is comin g, I will let stude nts brai nstorm the festivals. I will divide stude nts in to 4 groups to have a brain storm ing competiti on. The group which can memorize more phrases about festivals can get a prize. And then lead to our topic today-festivals and celebrati ons. Just like this: Good mo
9、rning, girls and boys. Beforeclass, let s play a brainstorminggame. You guys need to brainstorm all the words about festivals and I will divide you into 4 groups. And the group who can memorize more in the shortest time can get the prize. So let s start. Ok, let s congratulate GroupA. Since you have

11、ing I will present some pictures of festivals on the power point to ask students to match them with the corresponding festivals. So you guys have two tasks, task one is to match the celebrati ons with the corresp onding pictures. And task two is to have a free talk with your partners about which festival do you like and w

14、 celebrations) Step 3 while reading Firstly, I would like to give students 4 minutes to have a global reading with two tasks. The first task is to find out the main idea of the passage. And the second task is to fill in the form on page 3 about the namesof festivals and the countries.Just like this:

The first task is that you need to find out the main idea of the passage. And the second task is that turn to the exercise part and finish the table about the n ame

17、t three paragraphs carefully and answer two questions:“What are festivals of the dead usually for? ” and “Who is in memory of Dragon Boat Festival ” ? and then explain the new word “arrival ” . After this, I will ask student to read the next paragraph and then discuss in groups about Harvest Festiva
18、ls, especially Thanksgiving Day. Students will show their opinions about this festival in the class. I will ask stude nts to do an in terview.Work in pairs, one acts as in terviewer, and the the one is the official of Nati onal Tourism Administration who is in charge of introducing festivals in China. And the n they will show their in terviews in the class to pick out the best p
24、erforma nee to be praised. Just like this: Since you have known the main idea and the specific information of the passage, let s use what we have learned today to do an in terview. Let s work in pairs, one stude nt acts as an in terviewer, and the other one acts as the official of National Tourism a
