(2) Students are able to talk about birthday food and know the culture of birthday food in different countries. (3) Students can learn to work cooperatively. Objectives for the teacher I will create a student-friendly classroom environment where students can feel free to share their ideas;I will adjust the difficulty levels of questions I raise and assign different levels tasks according to the students reactions. Focal points: Students learn to realize the different birthday food in different countries and acknowledge the same wish to the birthday person.Difficult points: Students can get the deep reason why people have this kind of food on their birthday. Procedures:Stage 1 Pre-readingStep 1: Lead-in The teacher shows a picture of one of the classmates on her birthday and interest students eyes on birthday. Step 2: Free talkPair work: With his partner, each student practices a dialogue which discusses about the birthday food. -What do people eat on their birthday? - They have.(Purpose 1: to create a student-friendly situation to ease students nervousness and motivate students learning interest)(Purpose 2: to learn to work cooperatively) Stage 2 While-readingStep 1: Filling the blanksStudents read paragraph 2, then finish these sentences.Step 2: The whole process of celebrating with birthday cakesStudents try to complete the whole process based on their life experiences and the hint from the teacher. Step 3: The birthdayOne of the classmates happens to have her birthday, therefore the teacher with the other students celebreates it for her in the class. Step 4 QuestionsAfter reading the third paragraph, students answer two questions.
