第二節(jié)長對話1.題型介紹長對話在以往的四級聽力測試中從未出現(xiàn),是改革后的四級將新增設(shè)的一部分內(nèi)容。增加了長對話后的四級聽力測試的第一部分(聽力對話)總的題量就從原來的10題增加到了15題,具體說來就是把原有的短對話從10題減少到8題,而在兩段長對話后,分別出34個(gè)題,共7個(gè)問題。對話只讀一遍,要求考生聽完后就問題選擇正確答案。長對話是兩人就某一問題及事件進(jìn)行的連續(xù)性交談,雖然長對話的口語語匯難度較之短對話降低了一些,但因?yàn)槠^長,涉及的內(nèi)容更深入,信息量大,人物態(tài)度、語氣及情感變化更復(fù)雜,往往不能簡單依賴某個(gè)關(guān)鍵詞來判斷整篇對話的主旨大意,而且事先又不知道會問哪幾個(gè)問題,考生遇到的主要困難就是如何分清考點(diǎn)和無用信息。要輕松應(yīng)對CET-4聽力的長對話,首先必須把自己的聽力水平從聽懂字句的層次提高到獲取信息量的層次上。因?yàn)樵诙虒υ捴?,一輪對話設(shè)置一個(gè)問題,而長對話中往往需要聽懂?dāng)?shù)輪對話方能確定答案,所以在聽的過程中,切不可竭力去弄懂每一個(gè)單詞是什么意思,更不能一邊聽一邊在心中默譯,這樣只會顧此失彼,漏聽大量有用信息。長對話與短文測試類似,不僅考查考生對對話整體的理解能力,還考查考生對一些關(guān)鍵信息的捕捉、記憶、理解和推斷能力。提問的方式包括主旨的理解和概括,這類題一般不能簡單根據(jù)一個(gè)關(guān)鍵詞來判斷整篇長對話的含義,而是依賴于對大量信息的整合和推理方能得出正確答案。雖然信息量大,但對話雙方并非漫無邊際地聊侃,而是圍繞某一個(gè)中心議題展開的,所以抓住對話的中心思想是關(guān)鍵。此外,長對話往往還針對對話內(nèi)容的細(xì)節(jié)部分設(shè)問,這就需要考生從大量信息中甄別篩選出少數(shù)幾個(gè)有用信息。以下就突破長對話所需掌握的一些具體的對策與技巧加以介紹。2.對策與技巧(1)預(yù)讀選項(xiàng),推測對話的主題及問題的測試方向。以前的CET-4測試的第一部分因?yàn)橹挥?0個(gè)短對話,所以利用播放考場指令的時(shí)間預(yù)讀10個(gè)短對話的所有選項(xiàng)綽綽有余。然而改革后的四級的第一部分增加了5個(gè)小題,且后半部分的7個(gè)問題分別針對兩段對話,不僅預(yù)讀選項(xiàng)的時(shí)間相對縮短了,而且考生還需要綜合歸納每段對話的34個(gè)小題的共1216個(gè)選項(xiàng),通過找出選項(xiàng)的差異、共性和聯(lián)系,推測對話的基本內(nèi)容并提練出對話的主題,同時(shí)推測每個(gè)問題的測試方向。只有這樣聽對話時(shí)才更有針對性和目的性,從而更好地抓住和記錄關(guān)鍵信息。具體方法是:1)找出復(fù)現(xiàn)率高的詞語,這些詞常會提供一些線索;2)辨別各選項(xiàng)的不同點(diǎn),注意一些不同的時(shí)間、地點(diǎn)、名詞及動詞,它們往往會有助于確定哪些是要聽的關(guān)鍵信息。(2)通過對話的開篇、結(jié)尾和反復(fù)出現(xiàn)的關(guān)鍵詞,弄清對話的核心內(nèi)容。因?yàn)槊慷伍L對話的第一題往往會針對整個(gè)對話的主題內(nèi)容設(shè)置問題,所以要結(jié)合預(yù)讀的選項(xiàng)綜合歸納對話的主旨大意。熟悉短文聽力的考生大都知道短文的第一句話或頭幾句話常常是短文的主題句,經(jīng)常成為短文聽力的考點(diǎn)。而對話在這一點(diǎn)上與短文稍有差異,因?yàn)閷υ掚p方通常要稍作寒暄才會轉(zhuǎn)入正題,所以對話的開篇(雖然并不是第一句話)往往很快會提及雙方將要討論的主要話題,考生必須第一時(shí)間進(jìn)入狀態(tài),抓住對話的主旨大意。而有的對話則是在結(jié)尾時(shí)才概括主題,所以聽清結(jié)尾有時(shí)也對把握對話的宏觀理解頗有幫助。此外,短文屬于書面語,它的特點(diǎn)是用詞精審,結(jié)構(gòu)嚴(yán)謹(jǐn),邏輯性強(qiáng);而對話屬于口頭表達(dá)的范疇,具有句子簡短,常有省略和重復(fù)的特點(diǎn)。針對這一區(qū)別,不難發(fā)現(xiàn)長對話中有些與主題相關(guān)的詞會反復(fù)出現(xiàn),所以有時(shí)考生需要據(jù)此來綜合歸納出對話的中心思想。(3)邊聽邊記,利用記錄的關(guān)鍵信息來幫助正確答題。由于長對話提供的信息比短對話要多得多,且提問的方式除了有一道題可能是有關(guān)主題的外,其他的往往針對對話內(nèi)容的細(xì)節(jié)部分。細(xì)節(jié)題的答案所涉及的內(nèi)容大都是明示信息,這類題主要考察學(xué)生捕捉關(guān)鍵信息的能力,如人物及特征、行為、事件以及事件發(fā)生的原因,后果等。解決這類題時(shí),首先要通過預(yù)讀卷面上的四個(gè)選項(xiàng),尤其是選項(xiàng)中重要出現(xiàn)的詞語預(yù)測可能要問的問題,此外還要邊聽邊記,在相應(yīng)的選項(xiàng)旁還要記下幾個(gè)關(guān)鍵信息詞、短語或句子,以便在答題時(shí)幫助回憶,但記的前提是不影響聽。如果單詞太長,不必記錄完整,只寫前幾個(gè)字母,而對于時(shí)間(年、月、日、時(shí))價(jià)格、方位、電話號碼、年齡等則用自己能識別的數(shù)字或符號記錄。(4)結(jié)合背景知識,以問題間的聯(lián)系為線索進(jìn)行合理推斷。長對話的信息量大,且由于其屬于口語語體,語言的醞釀時(shí)間較短,具有用詞的不確定性和隨意性的特點(diǎn),考生常有沒聽懂,沒聽清或遺漏了某些關(guān)鍵信息的情況發(fā)生。如若發(fā)生這類情況,最好的辦法是分析一下這篇短文所問的34個(gè)問題之間的聯(lián)系,雖說這幾個(gè)問題可能涉及的是談話內(nèi)容不同的幾個(gè)方面,但或多或少它們之間或這些問題的答案之間會有一定的聯(lián)系。以這些不太顯而易見的聯(lián)系為線索,再結(jié)合相關(guān)的背景知識,有時(shí)沒完全聽懂也能推測出正確的答案。(5)聽清問題,核實(shí)答案。雖然通過預(yù)讀選項(xiàng)對所要問的問題已有了大致的推測,但推測的問題與實(shí)際聽到的問題還是有可能有所出入。所以在聽完對話后,千萬不要放松警惕,忙于答題,而應(yīng)聽清每個(gè)問題,避免答非所問,對于在聽的過程中已經(jīng)選擇了答案的題目,要根據(jù)所聽到的的問題進(jìn)一步核實(shí)答案。此外,還需將做題的節(jié)奏與提問的節(jié)奏協(xié)調(diào)一致,否則會手忙腳亂,顧此失彼。3.長對話的題材由于長對話為新增題型,現(xiàn)有語料少。但通過對新四級樣卷中的兩段長對話及2006年6月24日新四級試點(diǎn)考試真題中兩段長對話的分析,不難發(fā)現(xiàn)長對話的題材主要以學(xué)生常見的、比較熟悉的場景為主,中心話題無不與大學(xué)生的在校園內(nèi)外的學(xué)習(xí)、生活、出行或畢業(yè)走向社會后的工作的實(shí)踐密切相關(guān)。這也反映了教學(xué)要求設(shè)定的教學(xué)目標(biāo)“培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語綜合應(yīng)用能力,特別是聽說能力,使他們在今后工作和社會交往中能用英語有效地進(jìn)行口頭和書面的信息交流。”試想,倘若連特定場景中的較長的英語對話聽都聽不懂,如何來進(jìn)行熟練有效的口頭交際。所以考生在日常的學(xué)習(xí)中,對校園及工作場景里劃分得更細(xì)的特定子場景,如:在餐廳就餐、租房看房、出外旅游及問路、生病就醫(yī)士、在圖書館借書或閱讀、在課堂上課、與教授或同學(xué)探討論文的寫作、向上級匯報(bào)工作或商務(wù)談判場景等,要留心積累其中一些地道的信息交流方式和句型。做到對這些句式不僅眼熟,而且口熟、耳熟,能與同學(xué)或朋友就類似場景中發(fā)生的對話進(jìn)行口語演練,這樣在聽力長對話考試中方能游刃有余。例如,在生病就獲場景中較為典型的句式如下:1. TV commercials attract more investments.解題思路分測問題第19小題,也是這段對話的第一問題,四個(gè)選項(xiàng)全是名詞短語。當(dāng)對話和短文的第一道題的所有選項(xiàng)全是名詞或名詞短語時(shí),所問的問題十有八九是有關(guān)聽力材料的主旨大意,聽的時(shí)候?qū)υ捴刑岬绞裁淳驮谙鄳?yīng)的選項(xiàng)旁做上記號。而且通過四個(gè)選項(xiàng)中的business competition, cost of production, business strategies等詞組不難推測出這段對話十有八九與產(chǎn)品的生產(chǎn)或企業(yè)的經(jīng)營相關(guān)。第20小題,所有選項(xiàng)的主語相同都是it,這里的it指代的會是什么呢?短文的主題是和產(chǎn)品有關(guān)的,這里的it肯定與產(chǎn)品聯(lián)系緊密,無非就是產(chǎn)品本身,生產(chǎn)產(chǎn)品的設(shè)備或產(chǎn)品的銷售等。A價(jià)格遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)高于其價(jià)值,B應(yīng)使其現(xiàn)代化,C需要立即修理,D還可以斷續(xù)使用很長一段時(shí)間,綜合歸納不難發(fā)現(xiàn)這里的it若是指產(chǎn)品或產(chǎn)品的銷售都不太恰當(dāng),而這些特征若是描述設(shè)備,則較為合理,所以it的指代對象最可能會是制造產(chǎn)品的設(shè)備。第21小題,所有選項(xiàng)的相似之處在于都涉及了人事方面的決策。人事部門經(jīng)理被解雇,雇用幾個(gè)工程師使工廠更現(xiàn)代化,不裁員,還是重用學(xué)歷高的雇員?再與前面兩個(gè)小題的選項(xiàng)結(jié)合起來分析,文章的主題是產(chǎn)品,第20小題涉及的是產(chǎn)品的制造設(shè)備,與產(chǎn)品的生產(chǎn)有關(guān),那么這道題估計(jì)會問為提高產(chǎn)品的生產(chǎn)效率,除了解決設(shè)備方面的問題,在人員調(diào)配方面還應(yīng)采取什么措施。如果將上題的所有選項(xiàng)與本題的所有選項(xiàng)仔細(xì)對照會發(fā)現(xiàn),第20小題的選項(xiàng)B中的bring up-to-date這一短語與本題選項(xiàng)B中的modernize一詞是近義詞,反復(fù)出現(xiàn)的是關(guān)鍵詞,不妨用筆在下面劃線,聽音時(shí)重點(diǎn)關(guān)注。第22小題,四個(gè)選項(xiàng)里反復(fù)出現(xiàn)的advertise, TV commercials, newspapers等詞把這個(gè)問題的指向揭示得一覽無余。產(chǎn)品生產(chǎn)出來了,就要銷售,銷售離不開廣告,是在電視上還是在報(bào)紙上做廣告?這道題一定與借助何種媒體做廣告及其原因有關(guān)。常識告訴我們在電視上播出廣告比在報(bào)紙上登廣告要貴得多,所以選項(xiàng)B一看就可以排除,而其他幾個(gè)選項(xiàng)都在暗示在電視上做廣告的必要性,所以這個(gè)問題確認(rèn)為為何需要在電視上做產(chǎn)品的廣告??傆^全文將所有選項(xiàng)整合,分析問題之間的聯(lián)系,不難發(fā)現(xiàn),第一個(gè)問題考察的是文章的主旨大意, 而后面三個(gè)問題考察的應(yīng)是與主題緊密相關(guān)的三方面的問題。具體說來后面的三道小題分別涉及的是制備的更新,人員的調(diào)配和促銷廣告要借助的媒體,經(jīng)歸納概括對話的主題圍繞的是企業(yè)的經(jīng)營管理。關(guān)鍵詞提示 business strategies, up-to-date, modernize, TV commercials聽力原文W:Hello, Gary.
