He /She has short/long hair .He/She has a red pencil/pen.Language skills: pupils will be able to : pronounce and identify the sound of short e; read rimes, such as “ed, et, eg, en”; blend simple CVC words with the sound e;Teaching Aids 1. PPT 2.phonics cards 3.phonics calendar 4.modle picturesTask After finishing these phonics activities:Pupils Can read and spell these words: she he me we Pupil can know about the sound rulers of letter “e”, and grasp themTeaching StepsWarming- up Greeting and introduce the Class Game: When the team are better, you can get one point, let me see, Who will be the winner at last today? Sing a songPlay the phonics song and get pupils to follow the song.Body phonics1. Get pupils to read all the key words in the PPT.2. Get pupils to find out the common letter e.3. Guide pupils to find out the short e sound while T reads the key words with e exaggeratedly. 4. Play the video and get pupils to imitate the sound.5. Guide pupils to say /e/ /e/ /e/ egg. Phonics ActivitiesThe words with the rime of consonants1. Show a picture of red and ask Ss :2. Play the video of pronouncing , and then ask the Ss follow.3. Teach Ss to pronounce more words with “e”Activity 1: Magic eyes pronouncing game Two teams will have a match. The faster team can read out the words on the PPT can get the points. The rimes with e, 1. Teach Ss to pronounce more rimes, such as eg, et, en.2. Teach Ss to pronounce more words with different rimes. Teacher can teach the word “ben” as an example, and then play Activity 2.Activity 2: Letter Cards Spelling Game 1. Teacher puts the letter “e” in the middle and some consonants on the both side of “e”2. Teacher can move the letter “e”up or down to make different words. 3. The two teams can have a match, the faster team can get points.4. If Ss are good enough and the time is enough, Ss choose 1-2 Ss to practiceActivity 3: The king of phonics 1. Divide the class into 2 groups . Hand out each group a little phonics calendar.2. T can invite 2-3 better Ss to demo the game for other Ss. The members take turns to make 2 words with the phonics calendar. Other members have to race to read out the words. 3. They have 3mins to practice.4. Then T can invite 5-6 Ss to the front and have the final competition. T choose 5 other Ss to make words and the Ss in the front should race to read out the words. The fastest one can get one point. After 5 rounds, who gets the most points is the “The king of phonics”.Activity 4: New Words 1. T show the PPT and study the words :she he me we 2. T will say a word, Ss will spell the words using the calendar. 3. The fastest group can get points 4. Lets practice 5. T let SS find out the difference and the same 6.Let chant (listen repeat and do together)ApplicationLet spell1. Encourage the Ss to read the chant sentence by sentence. If they meet some difficult words, try to encourage Ss to pronounce the words in phonics way. If the Ss still say the words, teacher just guide pupils to listen and imitate the chant.2. The group which can read very well could get two points.3 Read, listen and tick T shows the VCD ,SS listen and choose the right answers then show us4 Listen, circle and write T show the VCD,SS listen circle and write the words, then show us5 Make the discoverLook at the PPT ,let SS find the discover :When the letter “e” is end of the word ,it sound/i:/,When the letter “e” is in the middle of the word, there are consonants on the both side of it
