designinganddecoratingtheirnestjustso,whileSunshine,filledwithlove,bentoverbackwardtoputeverything

justwheresheordered.

Thenonedayaneggappeared.Howtheysang!Andafewweekslaterwhenatinychickhatched,theirhappiness

seemedtoknownobounds.Idon'tknowhowithappened,butthatbabybirdwasbrightorange.Sorightoffwe

namedhimPunkinhead.

Thesunnydayspassed.Howproudallofuswerewhenourbabybirdranoutofthenestontoarealgrown-up

Thenoneday,Punkinheadsuddenlyfellheaddowntothebottomofthecage.Thetinyorangebirdjustlay

there,bothparentsandIrushedtohisrescue.
