tisjustgettingaleavepassawayfromthefamilyforhalfofSaturday.Butthebottomlineisthatoursponsorshipandsocialclubincomeisdependentonthesupportofourmembers.Intheyearaheadwearelookingatdaysatthegallopsanddishlickersasotherpossiblecluboutings.Sowatchthisspace.Wearealsoalwayslookingfornewideassopleasedon’thesitatetotossanyideasup.Lookingtowardsthefuture,IbelievethatthestrongestjuniorclubontheCoasthasusingoodstead.Thisyearourjuniorsfieldedmoreteamsthananyotherclubonthecoast.5juniorteamsmadethegrandfinalandoftheseweendedupwinningpremiershipsintheU16As&11Bs.Ithinkwewillseesomeverypromisingjuniorsmakingthejumptoseniorsinthenextfewseasons.Ihavenotdoubtwaffledonforwaytolong(andprobablykilledafewtoomanytreesinprintingallthis)butbeforeIcloseIhaveafewfolksthatweneedtothank.ThankstoourmainclubhousesponsortheTerrigalBowlingClub.WelookforwardtocontinuingourpartnershipoverthecomingyearsandI’mconfidentwewillrepayyourfaithinuswithbotha1stgradepremiershipandaClubChampionshipinthenearfuture.Thanksalsotoourothersponsors–ColinGraingerandtheteamatPropertyCentral(lookingtobuyorsellahouse,Icouldn’trecommendthemhighlyenough);theteamattheSnapperSpot(whohandsdownwhipupthebestfishandchipsonthecoast);GarethHurstatMassageRemedy(who’shandscanperformmiraclesifyouhaveanigglethatneedssortingout);AndrewRadcliffeandtheteamatGreenPointVeterinaryHospital(whotakeitfrommetakedamngoodcareofthatpoochortabbyyoulove);PeterWatsonandtheteamattheDrive-inMeatMarketatLongJetty(beststeakandsnagsontheCoast);andthedrive-throughbottleshopattheTerrigalHotel(whotakeitfrommehaveadamnfineselectionofredandwhitewinesandeverytypeoficecoldbeerunderthesun).Withoutthecontinuedsupportofsponsorslikethesethenplayingcricketonthecoastwouldbesignificantlymoreexpensiveforourmembers.ThankstoDane,Pink,Toddy,Reece,Paul,PavandShaunforinvestingthehugeamountoftimeandpersonalsacrificethatittakestoCaptainaseniorteam.Takeitfrommepeople,beingacaptainisatoughgig.Theseguyshaveallputinhugeefforts.Thanksfellas.ThankstoPink,Dags,ClarrieandNoelforrunningtheSocialclubesky,1stgradehomegamebbqs,andthedoublewicketday(andImeanday!!!)bbq.Theworkyouguysdonotonlybringsinvaluablesocialclubincomewhichhelpskeepourfeesdownbutalsojustgetsourmemberstogethersharingstoriesoveracoldbeerortwo.Thepositiveimpactthishasonclubmoraleshouldnotbeunderestimated.Cheersfellas.ThankstotheclubCommitteemembersNoel,Pav,Justin,Mitch,GeoffandGareth.Takeitfromme,thesefolksallputinahugeeffortinthebackgroundtokeeptheclubtickingalong.Team,Ihavereallyenjoyedworkingwithallofyouinmy1styearasPresident.Icouldnothavedoneitwithoutyouallandlookforwardtoworkingwithyouallagainintheseasonsahead.ThankstobigLazzaforcontinuingtoworkonourwebsite.ThankstoDannyforputtingthesignificantamountoftimeinthatittakestopulltogetherallthestats.Andlastly,thankstoallthewives,girlfriends,andmumsanddadsforstickingbyourplayersforwhatIknowfeelslikeaverylongseasonattimes.Iamafirmbelieverintheoldadage‘behindeverygoodmanisagreatwoman’.Thankstoyouall.Cheersandseeyouallin2007/8AndrewMcFadden(akaFads,yothu,yogi,etc)President–Terrigal-MatchamCricketClubPresident'sReportFromasocia5Well,anotheryear,anothermidtableresultfortheTMCC1stgradeBellbirds.Itseemstobethesamethingyearinandoutforthisside.Aseasonthatbeginswithsomuchpromise,enthusiasmandvigour,andendsupinreflectionsofwhatmightandcouldhavebeen...Throughouttheyear,we,asateamshowedglimpsesofwhyteamsinourcompetitionarewaryofplayingus.Forhalfoftheseason’sgameswedominatedteams,rackingupbigscoresinexcessof280runsorchaseddowntargetsforthelossofonlyafewwickets.Wewereabletoachievethisthroughour“newlook”topordergettingusofftothestartweneeded,andourbowlersbackingthemupwithcontrolledlinesandlength.Ourtopfourbatsmenhadverysuccessfulseasons,scoringbetweenthem,over1200runs.CongratulationstoChrisHenryonhishugeyear,amassingoverthemagical500runs(including2hundredsanda90).Battinginhisusualstyle,Chris“nurdled”hisrunsbeforetakingthegametotheoppositionbowlersbywhackingthembackovertheirheadsortothesquarelegboundary.ScottO’Brienmade300+runs(includinghismaidenFirstgradecentury).Scott’sapproachtobattinginthetoporderthisseasoncamewiththetagofhitormiss.HishundredagainstToukleywasapleasuretowatch,sowerehisinningsagainstDoyalson,NararaandKincumber.Scottseemedtoderiveasickpleasureoftormentingopeningfastbowlersbydepositingtheballbackovertheirheads,orthepointandsquarelegboundary’s.Theultimateteamman/player,Johnny“Sauna”Kovac,tookonthechallengingroleoffirstdropthisseason.Johnwasthethorninmanyateamsside,playingsomeextremelyimportantinningsforus.ItseemsasthoughJohnwaslookingtointroducesomeWestIndianflairtoCentralCoastcricket,unleashingsomebackfootdrivesthatRitchieRichardsonwouldbeinaweof.John’sattitudeofalwayshavingtheteamasfirstprioritywasexemplary,withhisgritandfightenablinghimtoreach50inourlastgameagainstWyong.Attimes,ourmiddleorderfired,pilingontherunswhenneeded,butalsoseemedtogiveawaytheirwicketsduringvitalstagesoftheyear.Tim“Changa”Bladwellgotofftoablazingstarttotheseasonwithatypicalentertainingandstylish40,and“Boof”FitlerandPeteFinalyprovideduswithsomer ClintDrew-Captain2ndGradeReportAnotheryearhascomeandgone8Asthiswasmyfirstyearasacaptainofagradeside,firstlyIwouldliketothankeveryonewhoplayed3rdgradethisyear.Notonlydidyoumakeitaveryenjoyableexperience,youalsomadeiteasywiththewayyouallunderstoodandexceptedthatsometimestoughdecisionshadtobemade.Asusual3rdgradehadasidethatlookedunstoppableonpaper,butonceagainitwasconsistencythatletusdown.Everygamethisseasontherewasalwaysatleastoneplayerwhostoodout.Butunfortunatelyinthosegamesthatwelost,thatstandoutwasalonesoldier.ThisseasonwasfilledwithmanygoodperformancesandIwilltrytomentioneveryonebutaswehadathousandplayersthisyearImaymissacoupleI'msorryifyouaretheunluckyones.SamCollinswasnewtotheclubthisyearandperformedstronglywiththebatthroughouttheseason.HisfirstknockfortheclubwasahalftonagainstWoyWoy.Heconsistentlygotstartsfortherestoftheseason.Stoltzy,whoperformedsowellinthelowergradeslastseasonstartedthisseasonabitscratchy.Butwhenhefoundthemiddleofhisbathewasalmostunstoppable.Hefinishedtheseasonin2ndgradeandinblisteringform.MickDean,MickWilsonandMarkO’Brienallhadupanddownseasonsandalthoughitwasn’talwaysworkingwiththebat,theteamspiritthattheseguysshowwasalwaysmemorable.Thebigman,Fads,didnothinginthegamesthatheplayedinthirdgradesoIdroppedhimbackupto2nd’s.HispartnerincrimeJustinOMJ,hadahorribletimeinthefieldatthestartoftheseasonbuttohiscreditnevergaveupandfinishedtheyearstrongwithafewcatches.IneedtoapologisetoGamalashewashorriblyunderusedbymethisseason.butwhenIdidusehimhealwaysperformedwellwithbothbatandball,exceptwhenheopenedagainstDoyalsonandwascaughtbehindfirstball.Sorry“G”ithadtobementioned.Threeplayerswhonotonlyputeverythingintotherecricket,butalsotheirsledgingwereMitchBowring,CamGrayandDaveCampbell.Notonlydidthesethreetakewicketswiththeirsledgesbutonafewoccasionstheynearlystartedfights.Allthreewillbeplayerstowatchnextseason.KenCampbellwasagainachampionthisseason.Whenyou’reinajamcallup“KC”andhewillgetontohis“BraBoys”.Themanknowsjustabouteveryoneonthecentralcoast.Alsoperformingwellwiththeballthisyearwere,DanBlacka,NathanReaandNomanShoaib.Allthreearenaturalwickettakersandprovedthatonceagainthisyear.Thisyearalsosawalotofupandcomingtalent.WithJustinFrostshininglateintheyear.LeePawlakshowedhisworthinthelasttwogamesoftheseasontakingacoupleofwicketsandscoringamatchwinningfifty.AndyGrahamshowedgreatpromisethisyearwithacoupleofsolidperformanceswiththebat,nottomentionthecoupleofscreamershetookinthefield.AllinallIthinkthatitwasasuccessfulseason.Surewedidn’tmakethefinalsbutIthinkthateveryoneenjoyedbeingpartoftheteamandhadfunplayingcricketwiththeremates.I’msurethatnextyearthebellieswillbetheteamtobeatintheirquestfortheeverelusive3rdGradepremiership.Withsomeverydominateplayerscominguptroughthegradesandsomeverytalentedjuniorsonthewayitshouldbeapieceofcake.Havefunandseeyounextyear.ToddJohnson-CaptainThirdGradeReportThirdGradeReport94thGRADESEASONREPORTWelltheseasonof4thgradewasonethatofferedsomuchpromisebutleftverylittlereward,weweretooinconsistent,whenourbattingperformedourbowlingdidn’tandviceversa!The4thGradeteamusedalotofplayersduringtheyearwhichIthinkcouldbesaidforallgradesthisyear,buttheteamshowedthatithadalotoftalentthatshouldbecomingupthroughthegradesinthenextcoupleofyears.InthebattingitwastheexperiencedTonyFormbywholedtheway,acenturyandtwohalfcenturiesprovedvaluable,Hisinningsof115againstKincumberwaseasilythebestoftheseason.Theskipperledthewaytooafterafiveyearabsencescoringthreehalfcenturies.AndrewGrahamprovedhimselfasanopenerattheendoftheseasonwithacoupleofinningsofnote,KrisColleyshowedanenormousamountofpotentialthatweshouldseethefruitsofnextyear,andeverygameStuGoldingplayedhecontributedwithahandyknock.InthebowlingthecannyveteranMickBealledtheway,theoldwarhorsejustkeepsgoing,tieingthebattingdownandsnaringtheedgesonaregularbasis,GregFlahertymadeafinedebutfortheclubalsotakingmanyhandywickets,CamGraywasatthebatsmenallyearbothwiththeballandhismouth,andPaulMilesprovedjustashandywiththebatashedidtheball,avaluableall-rounder.Thefieldingwasprobablythebigdisappointmentwedroppedtoomanycatchesatvitaltimesandthefirsthalfoftheseasonsufferedfromusingfivedifferentkeepersinthefirstsixgames,MarkO’Brienprovidedavaluableliftinthelatterhalfoftheseason.Theteamshoweditcouldmatchitwithanyonebutweunfortunatelywecouldnotwinthecloseones,hopefullymostoftheboyswillbebackinvariousgradesperformingbetterthanthisyearlearningfromthelessonsofthisseason.ReeceMahoney-Captain2006/2007-5thGradeReportWith5winsand6losseswemissedthesemifinals.Reflectingontheseasontherewereopportunitiesinallbut1ofthelosseswheretheresultcouldhavegoneourway.Inanalysingwhatwecouldhavedonetowinthosegamesthefollowingbasicsofcricketcamehometoroost.DroppedCatches..Wedropped43catchesfortheseason.Theoldadage“catcheswinmatches”Battingourallottedovers..Onlyon1occasiondidwebatforthefull80overs.Wescored3centuriesfortheseasonand7halfcenturies.Playerturnover.Likemostoftheothergradesourplayingpersonnelchangedregularlywhichdidn’tallowustogetintoawinningrhythm.Therewere,howeveralotofpositivesfromth
