ThistextesfromPeople’sEducationPress(pep)Book1Unit5ReadingandThinking,andthethemeofUnit5is“Languagesaroundtheworld”.Thereare8partsineachunit—ListeningandSpeaking,ReadingandThinking,DiscoveringUsefulStructures,ListeningandTalking,ReadingforWriting,AssessingYourProgress,ProjectandVideoTime.Firstly,ReadingandThinkingpartisessentialforeachunit,asitwilldevelopstudents’readingskillsandthinkingability.Moreover,lookingatthetopicofthispart—“ExploretheChinesewritingsystem”,wecanfindthattheReadingandThinkingpartfocusesonourChinese,whichwillarouseourstudents’culturalconfidence.
