Someoftheresultswereexpected,researcherssaidinthestudy.Studentswithnoafter-schoolactivitiesusuallyhadhighlevelsofscreentime,forexample.Andtheyexpectedgirlswouldscorehigheronnegativeindicators(消極指標(biāo))ofmentalhealth,asearlierresearchhadfoundthattheytendedtohavehigherlevelsoftensioncomparedtoboys.

Whatisnoteworthy,researcherssay,isthatevenamongstudentswhotookpartinafter-schoolactivities,46%stillwentbeyondtherecommendedscreentimeoftwohours.Atthesametime,67%ofstudentswhodidn'ttakepartinafter-schoolactivitiesalsohadmorethantwohoursofscreentime.Together,thisrepresentshighscreentimeamongteenagersgenerally.
