Teachingistoservelearningprocessratherthantodominateit.Learnersareactivelysearchingforrulesofthetargetlanguageregardingtothelearnerinthecognitiveapproach.BackgroundAmericaneducat3Errorssignsthatstudentswereactivelytestingtheirhypotheses.NoEnglishteachingmethodsaredirectlyfromcognitiveapproach,butanumberofinnovativemethodsemerged.Thesilentwayisoneofthem.BackgroundErrorssignsthatstudents4Duringtheprocessofteaching,

languageaspossible.
