1.GRE詞匯-典故法:

英語中有許多詞是來自于一個典故的,這種典故有可能是人、事、物或者古希臘羅馬神話,把握了這個典故就可以關(guān)心你更好地背誦以及理解這個單詞的精確含義,快速增加GRE詞匯量。

比如narcissism一詞的典故:Narcissus是一名俊美的希臘青年,他拒絕了女神Echo的求愛,所以他注定會愛上他自己在湖中的倒影,作為懲處。由于沒法令他的愛變得完滿,他日益消瘦,最終變成了一朵以他命名的花——那西賽斯,也就是水仙花。而narcissism則表示這位青年才俊的自戀行為,也就是自戀的意思。

2.GRE詞匯-拆分法:

顧名思義,把一個詞按自己便于記憶的方法拆分開,從而把這個詞給記住。雖然不如詞根詞綴記憶如此有效,但是一旦遇到,效果依舊很抱負。比如:adamant這個詞,意思為堅決的,我們可以把這個詞拆解為三部分:a(一只)+dam(大壩)+ant(螞蟻)→一只站在大壩上的螞蟻,雖然說風(fēng)浪很大,但它一依舊矗立不到,自然就有堅決的感覺了。

3.GRE詞匯-諧音法:

依據(jù)一個單詞的讀音,與這個詞的詞義聯(lián)系起來,從而相應(yīng)地把這個詞給記住。比如有個詞stubborn,意思是頑固的,你可以把這個詞記為死大笨,這三個形容詞特別具有頑固的感覺了。

再譬如morbid,意思是“病態(tài)的不正常的”,你可以讀為毛病的,就立刻記住了。還有個詞pest就更好背了,諧音為“拍死它”,立刻就可以聯(lián)想到它的詞義:害蟲。這個GRE詞匯記憶方法是最重要的一個,也是最有效的一個,大家肯定要在備考中學(xué)會應(yīng)用。
