Asafact,Ifoundoutthatthisbook,theCodeTalkerwasrathereasyformetoread,eitheraboutthecomprehensions,oraboutthevocabularies.Isuggestthatpeople,whohadlowerEnglishskills,wereabletoreadthisbook.Overall,althoughIseemedtoshowpassioninit,Ifoundthattherewerenoclearstories,andmostofthemseemedabitevenboringtome.

OnthebackgroundofWorldWarII,theauthorusedthefirstpersonpronountowritethisbook.ThemajorplotwasabouttheNavajos,alargetribeofIndiansinAmerica,chosentojointheMarines,todefeattheJapanese.Theprotagonist,KiiYazhi(prettystrangename,isn’tit?),wasborninanordinaryNavajofamily.Attheyearofseven,Yazhibegantorealizethathisparentsweredeterminedtosendhimtoschool.Atthattime,NavajoswerebeingdespisedbytheAmericans,andtheAmericansbelievedthattheNavajosweretakinglowerlevelsthantheydid.Lateron,theAmericanscouldnotstandtheuneducatedNavajos,sotheysetupschoolsforthem.MostoftheNavajoswerefinishingtheircoursesattheendoftheelementaryschool.Thentheywerealreadygraduated,however,becauseYazhididwellinthecourses,andhewasalwaysthebestineveryway,hewasallowedtoenterthemiddleschool.

Youknow,asIsaidabove,fewoftheNavajoswerepermittedtogoonafterelementaryschool,andbecauseYazhiwasenteringmiddleschool,thatmeanthecoulddosomethingdifferent…

Before,whenYazhiwasintheelementaryschool,heshowedaffectioningeography,andhekeptdoingverywellinthee*ams.Whenhewasinthemiddleschool,hewasalsothebest.Althoughitwasmyownopinion,IsuggestedthatthishelpedYazhitoentertheMarines,andaffectedhimtotally.

Amatteroftimepassed,andYazhiknowthattheschoolwasrecruitingmembersfortheMarines.However,hewasonlyintheyearoffifteen,andthedeadlinewasseventeen.Still,atthattime,noneoftheNavajoshadanyBirthCertificates,andtheonlyproveswerefromtheparents’mouth(maybethepolicywasunsuccessful).Sothen,Yazhiwentforhisparents,andaskediftheycouldsayhewasseventeenyearsold,whenthecommitteecameandaskedforhisage.Beyondthee*pectationsofYazhi,hisparentsrefusedtodoso,andaskinghimtowaittillanotheryearcame.Theyclaimedthathewasstilltooyoungtofightforhiscountry.

Finally,thedaycameforYazhitodepart.Ofcourse,hisparentswereunwillingtodoso,buttheyagreedwithYazhi.Therewasaceremony,anditstartedfromthemorning,andendedinmidnight.Yazhiwase*cited,butalsoabitfearfulabouthisfuture.

WhenfinallyYazhiarrivedbackhome,hefoundoutthathewasstillbeingtreatedthesameasyearsbefore-beingdespisedbywhitepeople.However,hemetwithhisrelativesagain,andhewashappy.

Jim:Anigger(forgiveme,thoughthewordwasoffensive,itwasthewordwhichwentthroughthewholebook)whofeltdiscontentoftheWidow,andranawaytoseekfreedom.

TheKing:Aswindlerwhoclaimedtobeaking,andwentalongwithHuckandJimtocheatmoney.

Theduke:Alsoacheater,whowentalongsidewiththeking.

Mr.andMrs.Phelps:TomSawyer’srelatives.

WhileHuckwasbeingraisedbytheWidow,MissWatson,hefoundhisfathersittinginhisroom,andhewasbeingbroughtaway.There,thetrueadventuresbegan…

WhileHuck’sfatherleftHuckforthreedays,heranaway,andgottotheislandofJacksonville,whichhewasfamiliarto.However,thesecondnight,hemetJim!Whilehefoundout,Jimwassoundasleep.JimwasbeingshockedtodeathwhenhefoundoutthatHuckwastheretoo(youknow,Jimwasalsoarun-away,sohewasalsoscaredthatsomeonewouldfindhim).Thentheyweretogether,andgotelsewhere.

Theysleptatday,andtookactionsatnight.Oneday,theyevidentlymetthekingandtheduke.Actually,Ihavebeenfoolishenoughtobelievethattheywereactuallyakingandaduke!Totellthetruth,theywerejustacoupleofcheaters.Butthen,theywentalongwithHuckandJim,andwhiletheyclaimedthattheyweretheroyals,theywerebeingtreatedinagoodway(whichIhated).

Ontheway,thekingandthedukecheatedaprettylotofmoney.Icouldsaythattheynearlygainedathousanddollars.Thentheypretendedtobethebrothersinafamilywhohadalargeamountofmoney.However,theywerebeingdiscovered,andtheyranawayassoonastheycould.

Whilethedayswentby,Huckwasbeginningtoshowdetestinginthedukeandtheking,andheranawayfromthemwhenhesoughtachance.However,hefoundoutthatJimwasgone!Soon,thetwocaughtup,andtheduketoldhimwheretogo.AndthiswasthelasttimeeverthatHuckshouldseethesetwofellows.

Whatwasthemostamusingthingwasthat,intheend,hemetTomagaininTom’suncle’shouse!Mr.andMrs.PhelpswerewaitingforTomforaverylongtime,andwhentheyfoundaboystandingovertheir(Huck,ofcourse),theyweresoovere*citedthattheythoughtHuckwasTom!Huckfoundhimselfinarealdepressedsituation:ifTomcame,howwasheevergoingtoe*plainitall?HedecidedtogolookingforTom.
