Abstract:

TheLinjingloessisaspecialtypeofloess,whichconnectsthehillsoftheNorthChinaandtheLoessPlateau.Itsstudyhasimportantimplicationsforgeologyandenvironmentalsciences.ThispaperinvestigatesthesedimentaryageandpaleoenvironmentalevolutionoftheLinjingloessprofilebyfieldobservation,identification,sampling,andlaboratoryanalysis.ResultsindicatethattheLinjingloessprofilehasacompletesequenceofloess-paleosol-loess,withatotalofabout15soillayersandathicknessof88.5m.UsingtheOSLandAMS14Cmethods,theabsoluteagesofthisprofilewereobtained,whichmainlyconcentratedatabout1.5~0.5Maand60~10ka.ThepaleoclimateoftheLinjingloessprofileismainlycharacterizedbyaridity,however,theevolutionaryprocessofpaleoclimateisverycomplex,andthepaleoclimateisinfluencedbyglobalclimatechangeandtheevolutionoftheEastAsianmonsoon.
