8、ory happened in a soap opera, named Young Lives. Young Lives is an soap opera. Do you know what an soap opera is? It is an everyday TV series. It talks stories about friends and families. Ss: I.shewill.would.T: Yes, there are mainly three differences, I and she, will have and would have, and, the quotation marks. We know, the first sentence is direct speech, the sec

16、ond sentence is what we will learn today. It is indirect speech. When we want to report what others said without a quotation mark, we shall use indirect speech. So how can we turn direct speech into indirect speech? Firstly, we shall throw the quotation marks away. Secondly, we shall change persons

17、in the speech, such as, from I to she/he, from we to they. Thirdly, we shall change the tense, make sure the tense agrees with the persons. Here, we may have a try together. Lana told Ben,I am mad at Marcia. It should be changed into Lana told Ben that she was mad at Marcia. Yes, thats perfectly rig

Yes, they are the person, tense and marks. Person changes from I to he or she, from we to they. Tense changes fr

27、om simple present to simple past, or from present continuous to past continuous. Besides, we will throw quotation marks away.
