Today I will talk about the part of 2a-2c Section B in Unit 1 My names Gina for grade 7 in junior middle school.Part Teaching Material AnalysisThe textbook “Go for it” is designed with the aim of making students use En

2、glish to exchange ideas, fulfill certain tasks and solve practical problems.This period is the continuation of Section A , which further expands the topic contents enriching students language input. The contents of 2a-2c focus on reading activities. Students can continue to learn and consolidate the

3、 target language of this unit.Part Teaching Aims According to the New Curriculum Standard, teaching aims are composed of the following three aspects, such as knowledge aims, ability aims and emotional aims. 1. Knowledge Aims(1) Further study the numbers 1-9 and master What Questions to ask for telep

4、hone number in English. Numbers are very common and closely linked to our daily life. For example, our telephone number, ID number, bank account, and also QQ number. (2) Be able to use the key sentence patterns “What's your first name?” “What's your last name?” “My first/last name is ”(3) To

5、 distinguish first name and last name. 2. Ability Aims(1) To cultivate students' ability of using What Questions to ask for name and telephone number.(2) To know the western concept of first name and last name.(3) To introduce the basic information of their own and their friends.3. Emotional Aim

6、s(1) To perceive the closely relationship between number and life.(2) To know something about the western cultures .(3) Learning to meet new friends. Part Teaching Key Points1. Important Points (1) Distinguishing first name and last name.(2) Knowing the differences between English name and Chinese n

In order to breakthrough this point, I plan to ask students to work in pairs or groups to role-play and practi

8、ce the sentence patterns more. (2) Mastering the correct reading methods. In order to breakthrough the point, I first make my instruction clearly and briefly then teach them to skim and scan to catch the key words, while reading to get the main idea.Part Teaching Methods The New Curriculum Standard

9、advocates that language is for communication, English teaching should lay special emphasis on development of students. For this purpose, Ill mainly adopt 3 teaching methods.1. Learner-centered teaching This approach emphasizes on what the students are learning, and treating the students as the activ

10、e learners. Teacher only gives some instructions, only a helper. Students should develop their self-learning skills with the help of teacher.2. Group-work & Pair-workI'll create a true situation, in which students can say in groups or pairs. They can say freely and needn't worry about ma

11、king mistakes. By this way, students would exchange ideas, fulfill certain tasks finally consolidate the target language of this unit.3. CAI (Computer Aided Instructing) CAI containing videos, pictures, voices and words makes a perfect virtual classroom, which attracts students attention. So it woul

12、d have good effect.Part Learning MethodsOn one hand, students are new in English world, they still keep their curiosity on something new. On the other hand, students have mastered the What Questions to ask for names in Section A. According to this situation, in this period I design the following lea

13、rning strategies. 1. Cooperative learning in groups First teacher divide the whole class into several groups, the members in each group interact together in order to accomplish a specific goal. The approach aims at making progress together by helping each other.2. Discovery & SummaryTeach studen

14、ts to discover and summarize the differences between English names and Chinese names after lead-in.3. Role-playRole-play is a good exercise for students to master the key sentences and practice them in real time.Part Teaching ProceduresStep 1: Warm-upFirst, lets chant an English song “Ten Little Ind

15、ian Boys”.One little, two little, three little Indians; Four little, five little, six little Indians; Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians; Ten little Indian boys.By chanting students would review and master the numbers in English well.Secondly, show them some telephone numbers on screen

16、for them to make conversations with partners to practice how to ask for telephone number.Step 2: Lead-inIn order that students can make full preparations for the following contents, I lead in todays topic by showing them the ID card of Cheng Long on the screen. Ask students to talk about his basic i

19、ds understand the meaning of first name and last name and can distinguish them correctly.Step 3 : Presentation1 Pre-readingShow the 3 pictures of activity 2b on the screen then let them guess whats the relationship between the two and ask them to observe each picture carefully for the main features

20、of each person. Teacher can help them by giving them some clues.Zhang Mingming is a Chinese girl. Can you find her? which picture?The friends are two boys. Can you find them? which picture?The friends are two girls. They are all foreigners. Can you find them? which picture?2 Listening & Activity

21、 2cFirstly, play the tape of this messages and let them choose the names they hear to fill in the blanks on the screen. Secondly, play the tape again and let them choose telephone numbers they hear to fill in the blanks on the screen. After that, they can finish the activity 2c-Match the names with

22、the telephone numbers, and also find three pairs of friends.3 Reading & Activity 2bGive students one minute to look through the messages to get the main idea then match them with pictures. Answers: 1-B; 2-C; 3-AThen ask students to read in details to circle the first name, underline the last nam

23、e.After that, ask them to complete the forms on the screen by using the first names they circled, the last names they underlined. The forms aims at helping the students tell first names from last names.Finally, have students read the messages after the tape loudly, afterwards give them several minut

24、es to read by themselves.If necessary teacher can translates the messages to students, to make sure they understand the text well.4 Activity 2aAfter finishing the tasks of 2b and 2c, let students go back to activity 2a.First show the task of 2a on the screen, asking them to read the name list to find out which names are first names in English and write F, which names are last names and write L. Next ask and answer by using the sentence patterns “What's your first name?” “My first name is ” “What's your last name?” “My last name is ”Finally, practice the What Questions m
