2、ern isreflected in our CT line of thermaloverload relays that include manystandard features not available withtraditional overload protection devices.Consistent and reliableprotectionThe consistent high quality of Sprech-er + Schuh thermal overload relays isensured by a complex current limitingcalib
3、ration procedure performed aftereach unit is at full operating tempera-ture. Calibration is performed at thelargest and smallest current theoverload can handle. The accuratetime/current characteristic curveobtained in this manner guaranteesreliable motor protection every time.Superior Class 10charac
4、teristicsTodays T-Frame motors have lesscopper and iron that the old U-Framemotors that were popular whentraditional Class 20 overload relayswere designed. For this reason, fasterClass 10 overloads like the CT Serieshave been recognized by many motormanufacturers as the ideal type toassure optimum m
5、otor protection.Protection from singlephase conditionsA unique feature not found in tradi-tional thermal overload relays providesaccelerated tripping under single phaseconditions. This is accomplished witha special “differential tripping”mechanism built into CT7 (seeillustration at right).Ambient te
6、mperaturecompensationAll Sprecher + Schuh thermal overloadrelays are temperature compensated.An additional bimetallic ambientcompensation strip, built into theconductor-bimetal transmission path,ensures that the tripping characteristicsof the relay remain constant over anambient temperature range of
7、25°C to +50°C.Single phase applicationsCT Series thermal overload relays canbe applied for protection of singlephase AC motors. The relays have thesame characteristics as shown for threephase operation. To maintain theseCT7characteristics, each element of theoverload relay must carry the m
8、otorcurrent as shown in the schematic onpage B19.Other standard featuresCT thermal overload relays feature afail-safe “trip-free” design that preventsthe device from being held closedduring an overload. In addition, aselectable reset button permits any oneof three reset options to be chosen:test, ma
9、nual or automatic modes.A separate NO signal contact is alsoprovided on CT7 overloads which isisolated from the NC trip contact.This permits the use of a trip signalvoltage different than that of thecontrol voltage. A NO signal contactcan be added to the CT4 in the field.CT7 Thermal Overload Relays
