Unit5 What are the shirts made of ? SectionA(1a-2d) 學(xué)情分析: The students of Class2.Grade9 are hard-working.They can take notes in class carefully.They can also read the conversations and texts fluently and recite them well.But their pronunciation is not good enough.They need to improve their listening skills,speaking skills and writing skills.They need to do lots of practice further. I believe they will get better grades soon. 教材分析: In this unit ,students learn to talk about what products are made of and where they were made using the Passive Voice.And they will know much about the process of producing some goods.The children will understand that they should always try out their new ideas.All the students will be interested in this topic.And they will make great progress in English after learning this unit.教學(xué)目標(biāo):Knowledge and skills:1. Master the key words and sentences: 1) Key words:Chopstick,coin,fork,blouse,silver,glass,cotton,steel,grass,leaf,produce,widely,be known for,process,pack.2) Sentences:This ring looks nice. Is it made of silver? Yes, and it was made in Thailand.2. To talk about what products are made of and where they were made.3. Train studentslistening and communicative comepetence.Process and methods:1. Learn the new words through pictures and on the screen and conversations.2. Lead in the target language through listening and speaking practice.Emotion ,attitude and value.Lead students to know more about arts and appreciate them.Teaching important points:1. Master the key words and target language.2. Improve studentslistening and speaking skills.Teaching difficult points:How to talk about what products are made of and where they were made using passive voice.Teaching tools:A tape recording, a projector and some pictures.Teaching procedures:StepI Warm upLook at the questions on the screen.1. Who invented paper first?2. What was paper made of then?3. Was it easy for people to make paper then?4. What is the paper made of today?Students discuss these questions and answer them.Step II Presentation1. Teach activity Ia. Learn the usages of being made of and being made from by showing some pictures on the screen.What is the gold medal made of ?It is made of gold.Is this table made of wood? No,it isnt. It is made of glass.Is butter made of meat ? No,it isnt .Its made from cream .be made of 與 be made from 辨析be made of 指從原料到制成品只發(fā)生了形狀的變化,沒有發(fā)生本質(zhì)的變化。(屬于物理變化)。be made from 指從原材料到制成品發(fā)生質(zhì)的變化,無法復(fù)原。(屬于化學(xué)變化)。GlassIs made of glass.玻璃杯是由玻璃制成的。The paper is made of wood .紙是由木頭制得。Then show the new words by using pictures on the screen. Ask some students to try to read them and lead the students to read them.Ask students to look at the things and material in the chart.Encourage students to speak freely to match the things with the materials.Read the dialogue in the picture .Ask students to repeat .In this unit, well learn to talk about what products are made of and where they were made.2. Teach activity 1b.This activity is designed to help students master the target language through listening practice.First, lead students to read the instruction.Then, play the tape twice.The first time ,students need to listen carefully to match the products with what they are made of and where they were made. The scond time,they need to listen again to correct their work .After students finish doing this work ,invite a student to check the answers. Correct mistakes if any.3. Teach activity 1c.Divide students into pairs to talk about what the products in 1b are made of and where they were made. Tell them they must make conversations like the one in 1a and use the information in 1b.Get students several minutes to do this work.Later, invite several pairs to act out for the whole class.StepII PracticeThis part is designed to help students consolidate the target language through listening practice.First,lead students to look at the instruction of 2a and the statements in the box.Play the tape for the first time .Students need to listen carefully to get the main idea .Check the main topic from the box.Then,ask students to have a fast view of the four questions in 2b.Ask students to listen to the tape again to make some notes to answer these questions.Ask them to do this work individually.Play the tape one more time,invite several volunteers to check the answers.2. Teach activity2c.First ,lead students to have a look at the sentence structures to know what to do and how to do it .Then ,divide students into pairs to make new conversations like this using the information in 2a and 2bEncourage students to speak freely and bravely.Later ,invite several pairs to act out for the whole class.Step N ConsolidationTeach activity 2d.This activity aims to help students consolidate the target language through a conversation and teach them how to use passive voice correctly.First,ask students to read the conversation silently to get the main idea.Answer these questions:1) Is China famous for tea ?2) Where is tea grown?3) How is tea processed ?Then lead students to read it and explain some language points.(1) be known for=be famous for 表示因.而出名,be known as 意為作為.而為人所知.Guilin is known for its beautiful scenery.MR.Li is known as an artist.(2) both.and 兩者都 Both Maria and I are pleased with his paintings.(3)as far as 據(jù).As far as I can see ,there are no mistakes.After that , ask students to practice role-playing the conversation in pairs.As they work ,move around to check the progress and answer their ques
