1、Company ABC Copy Exact Training,What is Copy Exact?,“Copy Exact” is the system developed by Intel in which: A single plant develops the methods and processes for making a certain type of chip. That plant perfects those methods and processes, with high output and minimal lost effort. Those exact meth
2、ods and processes are then replicated in plants around the world. Intel maintains high quality while producing chips in huge volumes. “Copy Exact” is important because Intel handled via Applied approval (SPS and/or ECO). That is there is no change for FFF changes. Process changes are effected by the
3、 revised criteria. The differences are shown on the next few slides. Remember: The rules vary depending on whether Applied defines the part as critical or non-critical. If you are unsure whether or not the product is defined critical, check with your local Product Manager, Applied Sales Account Team
4、 representative or directly on the web site.,Changes Not Requiring Approval,The following types of changes do not require any Approval or Notification to Applied; not even on critical parts: CNC Program Changes (assuming no impact to FFF). Process Improvement Changes (e.g. combining Ops). Change of
5、Material Manufacturer (assuming no material specification changes). Test Fixture and/or Test Software Changes (assuming no impact to FFF). When the types of changes listed above are required, Company ABC can make these changes in accordance with existing internal Company ABC ECO procedures and appro
6、vals.,Machine/Jig/Fixture Changes,Changes to the above items that affect form, fit or function of our product require Applied approval. Remember - Implementation of this change must await customer approval. Changes to the above items that do NOT affect form, fit or function of our product require on
7、ly notification to Applied. Implementation of this change may proceed at Company ABC schedule.,Change of Special Process Supplier,Special Process suppliers provide unique services - like welding, brazing, plating, cleaning, painting, non-destructive testing, etc. Change of Special Process Supplier R
8、equires customer notification when: The “Special Process” is specified on the Applied drawing and/or specification either: By unique supplier name or By reference to the Applied “Special Process Supplier” List. Implementation of this change may proceed at Company ABC schedule. If a process shown abo
9、ve is specified only on an Company ABC drawing (i.e. there is no Applied drawing/spec involved), then notification to Applied is not required.,Change of Sub-Tier Supplier,Change of “sub-tier supplier” is defined as: An entirely “new” AVL add. Note: Moves between previously approved suppliers (i.e. t
10、hose suppliers that already on the AVL and have proven capability) are not considered “changes”. Changes to a component are handled as follows: Functional component changes require some communication to Applied. Non-functional components (e.g. labels, packaging material, hardware, etc.) require no s
11、pecial action unless these items are explicitly specified by the customer in a drawing and/or specification. Action Conditions: If the “change of supplier” is between two previously approved suppliers (for the same commodity), then no action is required. For a “Non-Critical” product, if a totally ne
12、w supplier is added to the existing AVL listing, then an SNF notification to Applied is required. For a “Critical” product, if a totally new supplier is added to the existing AVL listing, then Applied approval is required prior to making the change.,Location change is defined as either: Moving the m
13、anufacture of a product from one Company ABC facility to another. Moving the manufacture of a product from an Company ABC facility to an external supplier. Location change is not defined as: Moving the manufacture of a product from one area of an Company ABC facility to another - within the same fac
14、ility. “Lift Out” move see later slide. When moving the manufacture of an end-item product family, you must get Applied approval (using the SNF form) prior to changing the location . Approval allows Company ABC to move any remaining family members with notification only - at Company ABC schedule. Wh
15、en moving the manufacture of a sub-assembly (e.g. a PC Assy.) you must contact the customer. Proceed using rules for “sub-tier” supplier changes (see previous slide).,Company ABC Location Change Policy,Location change approval is done on a “product family” basis. See following page for examples of C
16、ompany ABC product families. Company ABC Actions: Develop a list of product family “members”. Identify a specific model as the “parent” product which is the one that best represents the features/functions of that product group. Petition Applied (via SNF) to approve the move of the parent product to
17、the new location. The remaining members of the family must be documented and submitted to Applied (at the time of the initial SNF submittal). To expand the list of family members, submit another SNF. After approval of the “parent”, moves of remaining family members requires an SNF (notification only
18、) to Applied when production of the product is moving to the new location. NOTE: If a Product Qualification Plan (PQP) for the product family exists (customer input may be required to confirm), review and/or update may be required.,Company ABC Location Change Actions,A “Lift Out” change is defined a
19、s: The relocation of the same people, processes, material, documentation, equipment, etc. to a new site. The new location could be another Company ABC site or a completely different 3rd party facility. Since the key elements of the production and the quality processes are no different, this kind of
20、move is not considered a change in processing the product. When “l(fā)ifting out” the manufacture of an end-item product (or product family), you must notify Applied - using the SNF form - prior to changing the location .,Company ABC “Lift Out” Change,Applied Change Control Summary,Follow-On Requirement
21、s,Employee Requirements,All key employees must know these “Copy Exact” requirements. Key employees include: All managers & supervisors (except Finance, IT, HR or Administration), all purchasing, all quality, all development personnel (engineers, designers, product management) and all manufacturing e
22、ngineering personnel. All key employees must complete the training within the prescribed period. By either: Classroom training or. Automated training Everyone who completes the training must pass a test to assure (certify) comprehension of these requirements. All key employees must retrain & recerti
23、fy annually to ensure awareness and learning of any policy changes since prior certification.,Company ABC Requirements,All new “key” employees will complete training & certification upon arrival at Company ABC to ensure awareness and learn this critical policy. This process is the responsibility of the area Supervisor (facilitated by HR) and is done at the time of hire. Company ABC may randomly audit: The internal
