連義推想,由名的含義聯(lián)想推導出字的含義。
比如岳飛,字鵬舉?!帮w”和“鵬舉”相聯(lián)系,大鵬展翅飛翔,有連貫意義。蘇軾,字子瞻?!拜Y”是車前面的扶手,站在車上可以遠望,“瞻”有遠望之意。
4.用典,從古代文獻經典中選取字詞作為字。比如陸羽,字鴻漸。取自《周易·漸卦》“鴻漸于陸,其羽可用為儀”。
5.按排行取字,以伯(孟)、仲、叔、季表示兄弟長幼順序來取字。
