Furthermore,littlehasbeendonetoaddresstheaspectsofentrepreneurialorsmallbusinesses
thataresodifficulttodealwithandsodifferentfromthechallengesfacedbymanagementinbig
businesses.Inpartthisisbecausethoseinvolvedingatheringexpertiseaboutbusinessesandin
sellingadvicetobusinesseshavehistoricallybeenmoreinterestedintheneedsofbigbusiness.In
part,intheUKatleast,itisalsobecausesmallbusinesseshavealwayspreferredtoadaptto
changingcircumstances.
Theorganizationalproblemsofentrepreneurialorsmallbusinessesarethusforceduponthe
individualswholeadthem.Evenmoresothanforbiggerbusinesses,theoldsayingistrue-that
people,particularlythosewhomaketheimportantdecisions,arebusiness'mostimportantasset.
Theresearchthatdoesexistshowsthatneithermoneynortheabilitytoaccessmoreofitisthe
majorfactordetermininggrowth.Themainreasonanentrepreneurialbusinessstopsgrowingis
thelackofmanagementandleadershipresourceavailabletothebusinesswhenitmatters.Give
anentrepreneuranexperienced,skilledteamandheorshewillfindthefundseverytime.
Gettingtheteam,though,isthedifficultbit.Partoftheproblemforentrepreneursisthespeed
ofchangethataffectstheirbusinesses.Theyhavetocopewithcontinuouschangeyethave
alwaysbeensuspiciousaboutthelatestmanagementsolution.Theyregardthemanyofferings
