從李安電影《喜宴》中看中西方文化的沖突與融合摘要在文化全球化的進(jìn)程中,中西文化的碰撞與沖突不可避免。本文選擇李安導(dǎo)演的電影《喜宴》作為研究中西方文化沖突的切入點(diǎn)?!断惭纭分v述了在美國(guó)定居的臺(tái)灣人高偉同為了向父母掩蓋自己是同性戀者的真相,在父母對(duì)自己婚姻問題的催促下,與自己的女租客——非法移民的女畫家結(jié)婚的故事。本文通過對(duì)影片細(xì)節(jié)的討論,分析了中西兩種文化的沖突與融合。第一章是對(duì)電影的相關(guān)介紹;第二章從文化沖突的角度對(duì)電影中中西文化中的婚姻觀,家庭倫理,父親的形象三個(gè)方面進(jìn)行解析;第三章是從文化融合的角度討論和分析以上三個(gè)方面;最后一章是對(duì)全文的總結(jié)。通過分析《喜宴》中展現(xiàn)出的文化沖突與融合,尋找文化沖突的原因,找到文化融合的方法,從而使我們了解并包容不同民族,理解中西文化和生活習(xí)慣的差異,在產(chǎn)生文化沖突時(shí)及時(shí)找到合理的方法去解決。關(guān)鍵詞:《喜宴》;文化沖突;文化融合ViewingtheConflictandIntegrationofChineseandWesternCulturesfromAngLee’s“TheWeddingBanquet”AbstractIntheprocessofculturalglobalization,collisionandconflictbetweenChineseandWesternculturesareinevitable.ThispaperchoosesAngLee’sfilm“TheWeddingBanquet”tostudytheconflictbetweenChineseandWesterncultures.“TheWeddingBanquet”recountedthatGaoWeitong,aTaiwanesewhohassettleddownintheUnitedStates,marrieshisfemaletenant,anillegalimmigrantpainter,inordertohidehishomosexualityfromhisparentsandtosolvehisparents’urgingonhismarriageproblems.Thispaperanalyzestheconflictandintegrationoftwoculturesthroughexaminingdetailsinthefilm.Thefirstchapterisanintroductiontothefilm.Thesecondchapteranalyzesthreeaspectsofmarriageview,familyethics,andfather’simagefromtheperspectiveofculturalconflicts.Thethirdchapterdiscussesandanalyzestheabovethreeaspectsfromtheperspectiveofculturalintegration.Thelastchapteristhesummary.Throughtheanalysisofthedetailsofculturalconflictandintegrationin“TheWeddingBanquet”,thecausesofculturalconflictsarefoundandthemethodsofculturalintegrationareproposed.Sothatwecanunderstandandtoleratethedifferencesofdifferentnationalities,understandthedifferencesbetweenChineseandWesternculturesandlifestyles,andfindareasonablemethodtosolveconflictswhenculturalconflictsoccur.Keywords:TheWeddingBanquet;CulturalConflict;CulturalIntegration1.IntroductionAbouttheMovieAngLeewasborninOctober23,1954.In1992,hedirectedhisfirstwork,“PushHands”,acomedyfilmthatreflectsculturaldifferencesandgenerationgapsinTaiwaneselifeinNewYork,woneightawardsinTaiwan,suchasBestDirectorGoldenHorse.In1993,hereleasedhissecondmovie,“TheWeddingBanquet”,apopulardramaabouttraditionalethics.ThefilmwontheBerlinFilmFestivalGoldenBearAward,SeattleFilmFestivalBestDirectorAward,GoldenGlobeAwardandOscarBestForeignLanguageFilmNominationAward(辛燕,2013).In1994,AngLee’sthirdfilm,“EatDrinkManWoman”,focusedonfamilyissuesandconflictbetweentwogenerations.Thesethreeworksbecamethe“AngLeeTrilogy”,allshowingthephenomenonoftheconflictandintegrationofChineseandWesterncultures.ThisisbecauseAngLeewasborninTaiwanandgrewupintheUnitedStates,butalwayshasaChineseheart.HisowngrowthisaffectedbytheinfluenceofChineseandwesterncultures.Hegrewupinthecollisionofcultures.HeunderstoodthesubtletyoftraditionalChinesecultureandthefreedomofWesterncultures.Healsonoticedtheconflictandintegrationoftwodifferentculturesinthecommunicationprocess.Thefilmoriginatesfromlife.Histrilogyshowstheconflictandintegrationofculturebyexpressingeventsinlife,andprovidesalotofmaterialsforlaterscholarstostudytheconflictandintegrationofChineseandWesterncultures.“TheWeddingBanquet”isthesecondofAngLee“FatherTrilogy”.ThefilmusedtheuniquemoralandethicalviewsofChinesepeopletodealwiththecommonproblemsofhomosexualityinWesternculture.ThemovietellstheprotagonistWeitongwhohadsettleddowninAmerica.Affectedbyfeudaltradition,parentsinTaiwanbegantoworryabouthismarriage,andthenoftencalledtourgehissontogetmarried.ButWeitongwasgay,andhealreadyhadaboyfriendintheUnitedStates.Inordernottodiscouragehisparents,hehadtopretendtomarrythetenantGuWeiwei.Uponhearingthegoodnewsfromtheson,theparentsflewtoNewYorktohosttheirwedding.AlthoughWeitongwastopretendtogetmarriedwithWeiwei,butmadeherpregnantafterthewedding.Attheendofthemovie,theparentsacceptedthefactthattheirsonwashomosexual.Weiweiisdeterminedtohaveachild,andSimonagreestobeanother“father”ofthechild.Thecreationof“TheWeddingBanquet”isactuallybasedonAngLee’sownlifeexperience.LiketheprotagonistWeitong,directorAngLeeisalsoinfluencedbyChineseandWesterncultures.Atthesametime,theplacewhereWeitongandWeiwei’smarriageregistrationofficeinthemoviewasalsomarriedbythedirectorhimself.Themoviesceneofthetroubledroomisthescenewhenheattendedacollegeclassmate’swedding.Alltheplotsof“TheWeddingBanquet”areproducedinthecollisionofChineseandWesterncultures,sothisfilmisbestusedtostudytheconflictandintegrationofChineseandWesterncultures.1.2LiteratureReviewCulturalconflictwasfirstproposedbyAmericananthropologistObergin1958(李超民,鄧露,2016).Intheprocessofglobalization,duetodifferentculturalbackgroundsbetweencountries,regionsandpeople,therewillbevariousculturaldifferences,andcollisionsandconflictsbetweencultureswillinevitablyoccur.Somescholarsbelievethat“CulturalConflict”referstothemutualopposition,exclusionandnegationoftwodifferentcultures.Theessenceof“CulturalConflict”istheconflictofvaluesbetweenpeopleindifferentculturalbackgrounds.Foreignscholars’researchonculturalconflictsmainlyfocusesonbehaviorconflicts.
