①Teachingmaterialanalysis

ThisunitshowstheBritishexplorerShackletonleda28-memberexpeditiontoAntarcticaby"Endurance",trappedfortwoyears,aftersufferingbutnotgivingup,andfinallyallsurvived.ItaimstoteachhighschoolstudentsaboutoneofthegreatAntarcticexpeditionsofthe20thcentury,aswellasCaptainShackleton'scalmresponse,perseveranceandleadershipunderextremelyharshconditions.Throughlearning,highschoolstudentscanmeetthetestsoflifewiththecouragetoexploreandtenaciousstruggle.

Thetextadoptsdiarynarrativestyle.Theprotagonist,Blackborowisa19-year-oldsailorwhoidolizesShackletonandyearnsforadventure.Theprotagonist,Blackborowwhoiscloseinagetothestudents,presentstheordealoftheexpeditionteamintheformofadiary,makingthecontentandideaofthetexteasytobeacceptedbythestudentsandthusresonatewiththem.
