Ataroundtheageof16,theteenageJohnKeatsbeganstudyingunderasurgeonsothathetoomightbecomeadoctor.However,hisliteraryappetitehadtakentoomuchofhisfancy,especiallywithhisaddictiontothepoetryofEhmundSpenser.HewasabletohavehisfirstfullpoempublishedintheExaminerin1816,entitledOSolitude!IfIMustWithTheeDwell.Withintwomonthsin1817,Keatshadwrittenanentirevolumeofpoetry,butwassharplycriticizedbyamagazine.However,thenegativeresponsedidn’tstophispursuitofrhythm(韻律).
