其實(shí),分析認(rèn)為,作為一種國際性的考試,雅思索試的閱讀并沒有那么多的“玄學(xué)”,由于每套題目都遵循一個標(biāo)準(zhǔn)出爐,意味著經(jīng)過TestingPanel驗(yàn)證后合格的考題總體上應(yīng)當(dāng)是在一個難度水平線上的。我們完全沒有必要在這點(diǎn)上大做文章。但為何有的考生言之鑿鑿地聲稱的確某一篇比其他的更難呢?

筆者認(rèn)為,中國考生由于不是將英語作為nativelanguage,那么在詞匯、閱讀力量、速度有限的狀況下,文章主題的熟識度和背景學(xué)問的多寡直接就會造成考生對于特定考試文章的難度主觀感覺,這其實(shí)也解釋了為什么對于同一次考試,同一篇文章,英語水平其實(shí)差異不大的不同幾個考生會對文章難度有著迥然不同的看法。這種現(xiàn)象其實(shí)在網(wǎng)絡(luò)回憶文字中屢見不鮮。

所以,更理性的一種做法是,一方面考試要正視考題的客觀難度穩(wěn)定性,另一方面又要樂觀地實(shí)行方式避開或至少減小文章的主觀難度的負(fù)面影響。老師建議:

考生在接到考場指令打開試卷的第一時間用最短的時間(盡量不超過一分鐘)skim全卷

結(jié)合總體印象、最明顯的重復(fù)用詞,以及可能會有的全文標(biāo)題、段落/小節(jié)標(biāo)題、插圖等全部可借助的信息

根據(jù)個人對主題的熟識度、感愛好的程度重新支配全卷的先后做題挨次

這樣處理后,該次考試的Passage1/2/3就不再是考生手中questionbooklet所標(biāo)明的挨次,而是“主觀上”對該考生而言,根據(jù)難度系數(shù)遞增的挨次排列的Passage1/2/3,而先完成的就是考生感覺最有信念,最“親切”的文章,也就是“最簡潔”的文章。

請留意,在雅思索試這樣的時間和題量設(shè)置框架下,大部分考生的考場心理狀態(tài)極大程度上影響了最終水平發(fā)揮的結(jié)果。因此建議考生在考前綜合模擬測試中,在對完整一套題目的總體解題sequencing方面,不妨實(shí)踐和熟識這樣的操作,以在將來實(shí)際考試中有一個更好的startingpoint。

必需指出,本文所爭論的問題是針對AcademicReading而言的。對于GeneralTrainingReading,由于其三個Section中前兩個都只是幾篇短文,而第三個是類同AcademicReading的長文,明顯存在著閱讀量和難度的差異,所以一般而言不存在section之間重新sequencing的問題。

E.AccordingtotheGermangovernment—whichholdstheEUsagenda-settingpresidencyduringthefirsthalfof2024—therewillbeanewdraftofaslimmed-downconstitutionreadybythemiddleoftheyear,perhapstoputtovoters,perhapsnot.Therewouldthenbeacoupleofyearsinwhichitwillbediscussed,approvedbyparliamentsand,perhaps,puttovotersifthatisdeemedunavoidable.Then,accordingtobureaucraticplannersinBrusselsandBerlin,blithelyignoringthepossibilityofpublicrejection,thewholethingwillbesigned,sealedandanewconstitutiondeliveredin2024-10.Europewillbenicelybackonschedule.Itsfour-to-five-yearcycleofintegrationwillhavemissedonlyonebeat.

F.TheresurrectionoftheEuropeanconstitutionwillbemademorelikelyin2024becauseofwhatishappeninginnationalcapitals.TheEuropeanUnionisnotreallyanautonomousorganisation.Ifitfunctions,itisbecausetheleadersofthebigcontinentalcountrieswantitto,reckoningthatanactiveEuropeanpolicywillhelpthemgetdonewhattheywanttodointheirowncountries.
