[Abstract]Thetraditionalfestivalwithalonghisbearsthehistoryandcultureofthecountry,and

摘要傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日具有的歷史和文化的國家,而且是一種繼承民族精神和民族文化的方式。中國和西方的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日文化在兩種不同的文化土壤中成長,并以不同的文化形態(tài)繼續(xù)其自身的語境、本質(zhì)和內(nèi)涵。在這一過程中,他們將不斷充實(shí)自己,使自己的文化體系更加成熟和豐富多彩。中國和西方國家的主要傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日反映了一定的文化差異。這種差異主要體現(xiàn)在宗教文化、價(jià)值觀和飲食文化的差異上。在全球化的背景下,“外國節(jié)日”對(duì)當(dāng)?shù)氐膫鹘y(tǒng)文化產(chǎn)生了影響和影響。中國和西方的傳統(tǒng)文化對(duì)現(xiàn)代社會(huì)的影響更大。

TheChinesetraditionalculture,Chinesecivilisthefunofcreativity,isthenationalhistoryofmoralin,variousculturalideas,theoverallspiritofidea.ChinesetraditionalcultureisbasedontheLaozimoralcultureasontology,Confucianism,ZhuangziandMozi’sthoughtofTaoistcultureasthemainbodyofmulticulturalharmoniousentity.InadditionandtheChinesetraditionalcultureisChinaculture5000years.Overandspreadtheage,broaddistribution,cultureisthenaturallawsoftheuniverse,istheextensionofmoralculture;cultureistheuniquephoneofhumansociety,cultureisthelife,lifeisculture;cultureisthesoftpoweriseverythingCulture

is

the

idea

of

theChinese

nation,

the

spirit

of

the

Chinese

nation,

and

the

foundation

of

socialpoliticsandeconomy.

Chinesetraditionalfestivalcultureisgraduallyformedinthelonghistoricaldevelopmentprocessofourcountry,

Traditional

festival

culture

is

an

important

part

of

Chinese

traditionalculture.Becauseofitsspecialculturalconnotation,traditionalfestivalcultureshinesbrightlyinthehugeframeworkofthewholetraditionalculture.However,withtheintofglobaleconomicintegration,theculturalexchangesbetweenChinaandtheWestarebecomingmoreandmoreextensive.Westernfestivals,suchasChristmasandThanksgiving,havebeenintroducedtoChinaandarespreadingacrossalmostsocialgroups.Nowadays,moreandmorepersonarelivinginChina.MoreandmoreWesternfestivalshavebeenadopted,andmanysocialorganizationsandbusinessescelebChristmas.TheyalsodecorateChristmastrees,dressupasSantaClaus,givegiftsandsoon.Thisreflectsthecollisionandintegrationofeasternandwesterncultures.

Therefore,itisofgreatculturalandsocialsignificancetostudytheinandintegrationofwesternfestivalcultureonChinesetraditionalculture.(1)Helptocorrectlyunderstandandunderthenatureandcharacteristicsofvariouscultures,soastorationalviewofChineseandwesternculture.(2)Itishelpfultoimprovethecorgioftraditionalcultureandenhancethenationalself-confidenceandpride.(3)Helpforeigncultureessence,dross,betterculturalheritageandinnovation.(4)Conducivetoculturalexchangesandharmony,profilethedifferentcharacteristicsofthenationallearningfromeveryotherandthedevelopmentofglobalization.

ThispaperuseCross-CulturalCommunicationTheorytoanalyzetheinfluenceandintegrationofwesternfestivalcultureonChinesetraditionalfestivalculture.Cross-culturalstudiesareinitiallyabranchofanthropology,aswellassociological,economic,political,psychologicalandhistoricaldisciplinesavailableresearchmetorresearchperspective.Cross-culturalstudieshavetwoparadigms:(1)toexplorethesamephenomenonindifferentcultures;(2)studytheinteractionbetweencultures.Theformerresearchmethodissightothecomparativestudyofculture;Thelatterapproachislinkedtoglobalhistory.Thefirstformofcross-culturalcommunicationresearchisbasedonthecompostudyofculture,toexplorethenormsofhumanbehavior,socialorganization,ideasandpracticepatternsindifferentcultures.Comparativestudyisthebasicmethod,asonescholarsaid,“tounderstandculture,wemustcompare”.Comparisonrequiresfirstfindingcomparablecontentinmultiplesocieties,especiallyculturalcharacteristicsinaparticularenvironment.

Inrecentyears,Cross-culturalstudieshaveshownanewunderofculture(behaviorpatterns,concepts,sayandhumanecologicalframeworksinaregion).Earlyresearchersregardedtheculturesofdifferentnationsasbeingformedbyshethesamehistory,language,socialframework,geographicalenvironmentandmodeofproduction.Thiskindofthinkinghasareasonablebasis,theformationofcultureobviouslyneelong-termrootedinaspecificregion,andthroughcontinuouspractice,andthatasetoffunique,continuousmyth,belief,ceremony,values,language,legalframeworkandhistmemoryalsoroughlycoincideswiththeterritoryofthesociety.(1)thenewprogressofworldhistory(globalization),andthehighoftheothersideoftheculturaldevelopment,includingcultureintheprocessofitsgrowthisaffectedbyothercultures,theexpelofforeignculturalfactorsmixedanddeveloped,etc.,makescholarsrealizetheneedfortheconceptofculturetoabstractintheory.Theculturalconceptofoldmaterialismregardscultureasanormativenormbywhichtodenyandintegratesocialpractice,whichenablesthesocietytomaintainacontsocialideaanddistinguishitsownwayoflifefromthoseofothersocieties.Thenewculturalideaspayattentiontotheinfluenceofforeigncultureandculturaleuhuralhaybridity.(2)Cross-culturalstudiesinrecentdecadessodifferentfromthecomparativestudyofhistory,itisnottobecomparedinthecomparativestudyofcultureasisolatedfromeveryother,thereisnomutualinfluence,butnoticedthatacrossthenationalandculturalboundaries.

ThispapermakesastatisticalanalysisofChinesetraditionalcultureandwesternfestivalculturefromtheaspectsofculturalintroduction,culturalcharacteristics,culturalheritageandcontentcomposition.Thepurposeofthispaperismainlyinvolvestwoaspects.Ontheonehand,toreplaythetraditionalculturalcustoms,traditionalvaluesanddeepculturalpsychologycontainedinthetraditionalChineseandwesternfestivalculturebycomparingthesimilaritiesanddifficultbetweenthetraditionalChineseandwesternfestivalculture,soastohelpusdigdeeperintotheprofoundconnotationofthetraditionalfestival,andobjectivelyandframeworkunderstandthenationalityanduniformofthetraditionalChineseandwesternfestivalculture.Ontheotherhand,throughthecomparisonofChineseandwesterntraditionalfestivalculture,studytheinfluenceandintegrationofforeignwesternfestivalcultureinChinesetraditionalfestivalculture,andthenrealizetheadvertanddisadvertisementofthetwocultures,whichcanhelpustomaintainthenationalcharacteranduniqueofChinesetraditionalfestivalcultureintoday’seraofglobalization,andmaketheChinesetraditionalfestivalculturecanbecarriedforward.

Fromtheperspectiveoftheidea,traditionalideasandviewsandcustomsoffestivalculture,thispaper

mainly

uses

the

methods

of

literature

research

and

comparative

study

to

study

and

compareChinesetraditionalcultureandwesternfestivalculture,andtointegrateandprostheircharacteristics,andtodiscusstheinfluenceandintegrationofwesternfestivalcultureonChinesetraditionalculture.

Thispapermainlydiscussesthefollowingquestions:

1.WhatarethemaincharacteristicsofChinesetraditionalfestivalcultureandwesternfestivalculture?

2.WhatistheinfluenceofwesternfestivalcultureonChinesetraditionalculture?

3.HowtofacethemutualexchangeandintegrationofChineseandwesternculture?

4.TheopportunityandinfluencebroughtbytheintegrationofChineseandwesternfestivalculture?

Festivalsisagroupphenomenonthathumanbeingsproduceintheprocessofcontinuousdevelopment.Theycanalsoberegardedasaculturalphenomenon.Atpresent,festivalsaregivenmanyspecialmeanings.Inthefestival,whatpersonconveyisnotonlythefeelingsbetweeneveryother,butalsomoreliketheembodimentdisguiseofthenationalspiritofacountry.Itisakindoftraditionalcustom,moralfashion,andreligiousconcept.TherearemanysimilarbetweenthetraditionalculturesofChinaandtheWest,andtherearealsogreatdifficult.Inthisarticle,theauthortriestoexplorehowtodealwiththecommaandcollisionbetweendifferentregions,countriesandethnicculturesinacorrectattitudeinthecurrenteraofmufticommunication,soastobetterrealizethecommunicationbetweeneveryother.

ItisnotrealistictoforbidpersontocelebratewesternfestivalsconfronttheboomingsituationinChina,butifwejustleavethissituationaloneitwillcauseaconfusedstateofperson’smind.Soit’squiteurgetosolvethisproblem.Thisthesisiscloselytrackingthetrendofmoderntimeandgraspstheurgentanduniversityproblemtoconductresearch.

2.LiteratureReview

Manyresearchershavegiventheirownviewsonthephenomenonofwesternfestivals’popularityinChina.Someresearchershavefoundthatthepopularityofwesternfestivalshasacloserelationtotheboomingculturaleconomy.

Wu’s(1985)ChineseFolklorementionedChinesetraditionalfestivalsembodiesapantheisticandsecularizedcharacter.Forexample,theSpringFestival,themostimportantfestivalinChina,isderivedfromthewaxsacrificeoftheancienttimes,whichisthedaywhenthegodsaresacrificedinthemiddleoftheyear.Onthisday,personhavetocleantheirhomes,whichsymbolizestosaygoodbyetotheoldandwelcomethenewyear,andpersonhavetoeatdumplingstoensuretheirsafety.Religiousbeliefsfromthelowerleveltothehigherlevel,fromtheprimitivetothemodern,thousandsofyearshavesubtlyinfluencedtheideasofgenerationsinourcountry.FormingtheuniquereligiouspsychologyandreligiousbeliefsoftheChinesenation.

Turner(2006)inthebookCelebration,wrotethatwesternfestivalsishighlightedChristianculture,whetheritisthemostimportantChristmasorthanksgiving,itsmostdistantspiritualsupportistheculturalcarrierofChristianity.OnChristmasdaytodressuptheChristmastree,hangingsomecookies,itrepresentsawillingnesstosin.Thanksgivingday,ontheotherhand,isatimeforpersontogohometogetherandenjoyabigmealwithturkeyasitsstaplefood.Fromtheinitialreligiousfestival,ithasdevelopedintoafestivalwithaglobaldimension.ThereligiousmeaningofChristmashasgraduallymergedwithculturaltraditionsaroundtheworld.SomeevolvedonthebasisofreligiouscultureandbecamemorecolorfulChristmasreligiousculture.Somearegraduallysecularized,commercialized,andevenpoliticized.

Wang,Ch(2002)saidChristmasistheoldestandmostpopularholidayinBritainandtheUnitedStates.ItdoeshavesomethingincommonwiththetraditionalChineseSpringFestival:personprepare,sendcardsandgivegiftstoeveryotherbeforethefestival.Thefestivalisadayoffamilyreunion,joy,anddinnertogether.Afterthefestival,personholdavarietyofcelebrationactivitiesthatlastedfornearlytwoweeks.Theyexpressedtheirlovewithactionsandsentgoodwishes.Thedifferentcelebrationsoftheeastandthewestcarrythesamespiritoffestival-reunion,friendshipandlove,whichisthecommonpursuitofmankind.

InthebookFestivalCulture,Chang(1995)mentionedthatthetraditionalfestivalsinChinaandtheWestalsohighlightthedifficultinvalueorientation.Inaword,thetraditionalfestivalsinChinarepresentthespiritofcollectivism,

while

the

traditional

festivals

in

the

West

represent

thespirit

of

individualism.

ChinaismoreinfluencedbyConfucianculture,emphasizingmoralvalues,bloodandfamilystatus,whichisreflectedintheconceptofcollectivism.Inwesterncountries,itisdifferent.ItssocietyismoreinfluencedbytheculturalvaluesoftheRenaissance.Becausetherenaissanceadvocatedtheideaofpersonalsupremacy,theprotectionofhumanrights,advocatingpersonalfreedomandliberation,sothewesternfestivalwillreflectthecolorofindividualism,suchasdressupinthefestival,crazyshoutcrazycelebrationisthespecificembodimentofthespiritoffreedomandindependence.

Tan(2007)mentionedthatmoreandmore“foreignfestivals”aretakingtheirplaceinChina,andsomeChinesepersonwillbepanickedbecauseofthis,whichtheyconsidertobeadomineeringandencroachingonthetraditionalChinesefestivalculture.Weareallfamilies

with

Western

festivals,

suchas

Father’s

Day,

Christmas

Day,

Thanksgiving

Day,

Halloween

and

so

on.

This

concept

thegrowingtrendofWesternfestivalsinvadingChinesesociety,sosomepersonfearsarenoreason.Intoday'sworldofdiversifieddevelopmentandexchangescontinuetodeepenthebackground,ifyouwanttokeeptheirownsideofthepurelandfromtheinfluenceofothercountriesisalmostimpossible.Communicationisinevitable,itisimportanttoadjusttheirownstateofmind.Inthecontextofglobalization,weneedtolearntofindourplaceintheworldinanewstate.Shouldnotbetoomuchexclusionoftheseforeignfestivals,buttofindtheirownpositionandstate,tomeettheimpactofthisinevitableculture.

Chen(2005)saideconomyismarket-oriented,sothefestivalcultureisconfrontingagreatchallengefromfestivaleconomy.Westernfestivals’popularityis,toagreatextent,inseparablefromthecommercialspeculation.Drivingbyhugecommercialinterestsbroughtbywesternfestivals,manyfactoriesandstoresincreasetheirinvestmentandstepuppublishitytothefestivals.

Geng(2006)mentionedculturalexchangeistheinevitabletrendinthehistoryofhumanculturaldevelopment.Itistheinexhaustibleresourceandmotivationfortheculturalvicissitudesandadvancement.Ononehand,theculturalexchangeandinteractingbetweendifferentcountriesleadtothedisappearanceofsomeethnicculturalfeatures;ontheotherhand,itintensifiesthe

awareness

of

differentcultures

and

the

self-idea

of

national

culture

to

some

extent.Cultureexchange,penetratingandtransformationarerevealedtobetheordinaryrulesofculturetransmission.

Samuel,H(2009)mentionedmanyoftheJesuitmissiontoChina,

but

because

of

the

great

of

Chineseand

western

culture

in

the

late

Ming

dynasty,theCatholicJesuitthroughyearsofmissionaryactivitiesinourcountryhasalreadybeenfumbledforthespreadofasetof“adjustdevicestolocalconditions”strategy.Theinitialmissionwasabumpyone.Intheend,themissionariesgaveuptheoriginaloverallisacceptedandlettheChineseCatholicintentionandtheidea,tostarttolookforanddiggingintheChinesetraditionalcultureandreligiousculturehastheconvergenceandthesimilarity,tryingtofindthecorrespondencyofbothandintersectiontograduallyinfluenceperson’sidea,topersuadetheCatholic.

Zhang(2005)AfterChinaenteredtheWTO,westernculturalconceptsandeasterntraditionalmoralitybecameinosculatinggraduallyinperson’sdailylife.Astimepassesby,thisinosculatingbeginstospreadinalargerscale.Westernfestivals,whichintensivelyembodythewesternculture,becomemoreandmorepopularinChina.Thepioneerswere,ofcourse,thoseyoungpersonwhowereliabletofollowfashion.

Yang(2002)alsosaidChinesepersonpayattentiontocollectivism,thinkthatthevalueoflifeisreflectedinitssocialvalue,sooftenpayattentiontosocialvalue,denytheindividual’sself-subjectivity.InChina,thefestivalisthedayoffamilyreunion,ChinesespringfestivalactivitiesandcustomsreflectthecollectivismoftheChineseperson.Inwestern

culture.

Liu,Ch(2002)inhisbookCultureandPersonalitymentionedculturecontainsthingsarenotso-calledgoodorbadandrightorwrong,infact,theyareindifferentnationalities,differentregionsundertheinevitablechoice.Festivalasaformofculture,alsohasitsownstate.Infact,mostofthetime,weeveryotherintoomuchfoilahostilemoodandxenophobia,culturalexchangesmisinterpretedasforeignculturalaggression,thisiscontrarytotheinclusivedevelopmentofcultureandtolerantcommunication.InthefaceofdifferenttraditionalfestivalsinChinaandthewest,shouldbemorepersonalangerandexclusionpsychologyintorespectforhumancivilandsocialpublishculturalaspirationsandadmiration.Economicglobalizationastheefficientamusementofcross-culturalcommunication.Wedonotneedtobepanictowardstheimpactofwesternfestivalsculture.Thetraditionalculturecanstillmaintainafterthewesternculturalshock.

Zhang,Y(2014)saiddomesticcinemaandtelevisionworksofartandthemanymediainthewesterntraditionconductedaseriesofrenderingandspreadduringthefestival,personfortheattentionandrecognitionofwesterntraditionalfestivalsaregreatlyimproved,andcanmakeitsproducecertainillusion,thisalsoisakindof“imaginationofcommunity”,thinkthatthemediatospreadwiththehelpofmanymediainartandundertheinfluenceofnewsreports,theperimeteroftheotherswilltaketheinitiativetoparticipateinthefestival,andasampleyourselfifyoudon’tlikeotherstoparticipatewillnotbeabletokeepupwiththetrendofTheTimes

love

to

beat

around

the

bush,

and

Zhao(2002)mentionedTheimpactofglobalizationonChinaisobvious.Withtheopeningofthecountry,theinfluxofwesternculture,especiallytheimpactofwestern

festivals

on

Chinese

traditionalfestivals,

makes

Chinese

traditional

festivals

to

be

ignored

and

neglectedtovaryingdegrees.Thepublic’sawarenessoftheprotectionandinheritanceoftraditionalfestivalshasbeendiluted.Therefore,wemustjudgethesituation,maintainthesenseofsuffering,treatforeignculturerationally,andstrengthentheprotectionandinheritanceofChinesetraditionalfestivals,soastomaketheexcellentChinesetraditionalculturecontinue.
