一、定語從句根本知識及疑點難點

●定義：修飾限制某一名詞或代詞的句子為定語從句。一般翻譯為:“的〞。

●先行詞：被修飾的名詞或代詞為先行詞。

●地點：放在被修飾名詞或代詞的后邊。

●關(guān)系詞：定語從句一定有一個關(guān)系詞指引，關(guān)系詞分為關(guān)系代詞和關(guān)系副詞兩類.

關(guān)系代詞有：who,whom,whose,that,which等。

關(guān)系副詞有：when,where,why等。

__________不可以指引定語從句。

一〕先行詞

定語從句的先行詞可以是人，可以是物

〔二〕關(guān)系代詞

1、關(guān)系代詞的根本用法。

關(guān)系代詞指代先行詞；充任從句的成分

①who指人,在定語從句中作主語或賓語。作賓語時，可省略。

Theman(who)Italkedwithisourteacher.

Apersonwhostealsthingsiscalledathief.

②whom指人,在定語從句中作賓語，可省略

Theman(whom)InoddedtoisMr.Li.

③which指物，在定語從句中作主語或賓語。作賓語時，可省略。

④that指人或物，在定語從句中作主語或賓語。作賓語時，可省略。

2、關(guān)系代詞用法注意點

(1)that和which都可以指物，但以下5種狀況只好用that不可以用which。

①當(dāng)先行詞中有人又有物時。如：

Doyouknowthethingsandpersonsthattheyaretalkingabout?

我能清楚記得我所見到的人和一些照片。＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿

②當(dāng)先行詞為不定代詞all,one,few,little,no,some,any,everything,nothing,nobody,none時。如：

③當(dāng)先行詞被only,just,very,right,last等修飾時。如：

④當(dāng)先行詞被最高等或序數(shù)詞修飾時。如：

TheTVtoweristhehighestbuildingthathasbeenbuiltinthiscity.

2〕只用which不用that的狀況。

①指引非限制性定語從句。

Mywatch,whichisveryold,stopsagain.

②關(guān)系代詞前有介詞時。

Thisistheroominwhichsheoncelived.

③先行詞為that時。

Theclockisthatwhichcantellusthetime.

(3)that和who都可以指人，但下邊兩種狀況，多用who。

①先行詞為all,anyone,one,ones等時。如：

Allwhoheardthenewswereexcited.

②先行詞為those,he和people時。如：

Thosewhowanttogopleasesignyournameshere.

HewhodoesnotreachtheGreatWallisnotatrueman.

whose指引的定語從句注意點。

①whose指引定語從句，此后應(yīng)緊跟名詞，組成名詞短語。

Theyrushedovertohelpthemanwhosecarhadbrokendown.

②whose與它所修飾的名詞一同可以作介詞的賓語。如：

Thebossinwhosedepartmentheworkedhadheardthenews.他工作所在部門的老板已經(jīng)聽聞了這個信息。

③whose指引的定語從句，其先行詞既可以指人也可以指物。

④whose的先行詞指物時，可用ofwhich取代，但語序不同樣，即whose+名詞=the+名詞+ofwhich，或=ofwhich+the

名詞。如：

Thenovelwhosetitle(=thetitleofwhich或ofwhichthetitle)isRedandBlackisveryinteresting.

whose的先行詞指人時，可用ofwhom取代，但語序不同樣，即whose+名詞=the+名詞+ofwhom，或=ofwhom+the+名詞。如：

Theboywhosemother(=themotherofwhom或ofwhomthemother)isadoctorismyfriend.

(5)關(guān)系代詞在從句中作主語時，從句的謂語動詞的人稱和數(shù)一定與先行詞保持一致。如：

Thosewhoareagainsttheplanputupyourhands.

Tomisoneofthestudentswhowerepraisedbytheteacheryesterday.

注意：在“oneof+復(fù)數(shù)名詞+定語從句〞構(gòu)造中，定語從句中謂語動詞的單復(fù)數(shù)形式由它修飾的先行詞的數(shù)來決定，

但假如one前面有theonly修飾時，定語從句的謂語動詞只好用單數(shù)。
