So,Ididthesafethingandgotanofficejob——theverythingIwassure

thatIdidn’twanttodo!Idetestedtheofficepolicies,thesuitsIhadto

wearandthedowntownenvironmentthatIhadtodrivetoeveryday.Iknewthis

wasnotwhereIbelonged.

Butgodknewwhatpathmycareerwastofollow.Apositionopenedupatthe

mostexclusivehealthclubinourcity,soIapplied.Thiswasmykindof

environment——anactive,vibrantkindofplace——completelyattheoppositeendof

thespectrumfromtheofficeenvironmentwhereIfoundmyself.Theposition

requiredthatIworkSaturdaynightsandSundaymornings.Perfect,Ithought!I

couldkeepmyofficejobMondaythroughFridayandworkatmydreamjobonthe

weekends.Thisarrangementlastedseveralmonthsuntil,eventually,afull-time

positionopenedupandIwasabletoresignfrommyofficejob.

Overthenextfewyears,Iworkedmywayuptheleader,gainingexperience

inseveraldifferentdepartments.Ifoundmynicheasthedirectorofmember

services——cateringtoourclienteleandprovidingthemwithnumerous

cutting-edgeprograms.Iwouldhavestayedatthatjobforever——itseemedtobe

thepinnacleofallmydreamsfulfilled.Herewerefellowemployeeswhohada
