WhentheACadapterisconnected,powerisbeingsuppliedfromtheelectricaloutlettotheACadapterandontoyourcomputer.Now,youarereadytotumonthecomputer.CAUTION:WhenyoudisconnecttheACadapter,disconnectfromtheelectricaloutletfirstandthenfromthecomputer.AreverseproceduremaydamagetheACadapterorthecomputer.Whenunpluggingtheconnector,alwaysholdtheplughead.Neverpullonthecord.NOTE:WhentheACadapterisconnected,italsochargesthebatterypack.Forinformationonusingbatterypower,seeChapter3.OpeningtheCoverCAUTION:Begentlewhenopeningandclosingthecover.Openingitvigorouslyorslammingitshutcoulddamagethecomputer.Openthetopcoverbyslidingthecoverlatchtowardtheright(O)andliftingupthecover(O).Youcantiltthecoverforwardorbackwardforoptimalviewingclarity.
TurningOnandOfftheComputerTurningOnMakesurethatthecomputerisconnectedtoACpower.Pressthepowerbutton.Eachtimethecomputeristurnedon,itperformsaPower-OnSelfTest(POST),andtheoperatingsystemsuchasWindowsshouldstart.

jTermAction jPointMoveyourfingeronthepaduntilthecursorpointstotheselectiononthescreen.ClickPressandreleasetheleftbutton.-or-Tapgentlyanywhereonthepad.Double-clickPressandreleasetheleftbuttontwiceinquicksuccession.Taptwiceonthepadrapidly.DragandPressandholdtheleftbutton,thenmoveyourfingeruntildropyoureachyourdestination(drag).Finally,releasethebutton(drop)whenyoufinishdraggingyourselectiontothedestination.Theobjectwilldropintothenewlocation.-or-Gentlytaptwiceonthepadandonthesecondtap,keepyourfingerincontactwiththepad.Then,moveyourfingeracrossthepadtodragtheselectedobjecttoyourdestination.Whenyouliftyourfingerfromthepad,theselectedobjectwilldropintoplace.ScrollToscrollistomoveupanddownorleftandrightintheworkingareaonthescreen.Tomovevertically,placeyourfingerontherightedgeofthepadandslideyourfingerupanddownalongtheedge.Tomovehorizontally,placeyourfingeronthebottomedgeofthepadandslideyourfingerleftandright.Thisfunctionworksonlyafter
