1、老友記全十季英文重難點分析【101】The One Where Monica Gets a New Roommate antiques NO.1 The One Where Monica Gets a New Roommate 補充介紹一下Friends的官方站點，Url是/friends, 如果有什么糾紛，相信那里是最權(quán)威的地方查閱了，另外，在世博英語發(fā)現(xiàn)了一個用Friends學(xué)習(xí)英語的系列，大家也可以去那里看看。 記得剛開始看時，有個問題總是讓我困惑，即為什么每一集（episode）的名字都叫做The One *，后來總算搞清楚了，原來它是the one with. 或者the one w

2、here,或者the one which.的意思，有時候甚至簡寫成TOW,呵呵，怎么樣，明白了么？OK,讓我們進(jìn)入正題。 第一集是試播（Pilot），主要情節(jié)如下，瑞秋在教堂拋棄未婚夫巴利、逃婚到莫妮卡處。莫妮卡和調(diào)酒師(Wine Guy)保羅約會，此君偽裝成離婚后一蹶不振的苦命人，靠博取同情來騙女人上床。羅斯婚姻失敗，因為他的老婆被證實居然是同性戀，所以情緒低落。喬伊安慰他說，女性的種類與Ice Cream一樣多，離婚未嘗不是好事。大家一同看西班牙肥皂劇并信口瞎猜劇情。羅斯自高中起即愛慕瑞秋，此刻死灰復(fù)燃，提議和她約會，瑞秋答應(yīng)了。 這一集絕對是整個Friedns的基石，所謂pilot就是如

3、果播的不好，立馬cancel的那種，所以無論劇情語言還有表演都非常精彩，這一集里面六個人都露面了，我立馬就喜歡上了一臉壞笑的幼獸Joey(嘿嘿，一看就是我這種類型嘛)，憨憨厚厚的Ross, 未經(jīng)世事的Rach, 直爽坦白的商販Chandler,成熟而又略帶神經(jīng)質(zhì)的Monica,以及童趣無邪的Phoebe. 以下是我覺得有意思的一些詞句，一一講解。 1 Chandler :So does he have a hump? A hump and a hairpiece?這是Chandler挖苦Paul的話，意思是：他有駝背么？有假發(fā)的駝子？ 2 Ross: I just feel like some

4、one reached down my throat, grabbed my small intestine, pulled it out of my mouth and tied it around my neck.這段話是不是很熟悉呀？對，大話西游里面一開始孫猴子發(fā)狠就是這樣子講的哦，不知道是誰抄襲誰，意思不用我解釋了吧，這里Ross用來形容妻子Carol是Lesbian并同他離婚后的心情。 3 Ross:Why does everyone keep fixating on that?這句話很實用，意思是為什么你們總是提起那件事呢？因為Joey又提到了Ross妻子Carol是lesbian

5、的事兒，Ross非常惱火，于是冒出這樣一句，我們平常生活中也可以用一下。Remember:fixate on sth. 4 Joey: Strip joint! Cmon, youre single! Have some hormones! Strip joint是脫衣舞場的意思，Joey意思是Ross現(xiàn)在雖然很受傷，但是正好恢復(fù)單身，可以去脫衣舞場去， have some hormones直譯就是你要有一些男性荷爾蒙呀，翻譯過來就是你該去（脫衣舞場）找樂子去。 5 Rachel: I realized that I was more turned on by this gravy boat

And then I got really freaked out, and thats when it hit me: how much Barry looks like Mr. Potato Head. 這句話里面有三個詞組需要解釋，第一個是turn on,也就是打開的意思，比如turn on the radio,這里是指讓某人更興奮激動的意思，想一想，平時在路上走，這時候有個sexy美女路過，你就可以說:wow,the gal really turns me on.第二個是freak out,這個詞組很重要，幾乎在每集都能聽到，頻率高的嚇人，看來口語中很實用

8、re of a fifth date kinda revelation.這句語法結(jié)構(gòu)不知道怎么分析，意思就是，這該是第五次約會時候才說的事兒。這一招要學(xué)會，我發(fā)現(xiàn)這個酒保的確很會泡妞。 8 Ross: I assume were looking for an answer more sophisticated than to get you into bed.這里有一個詞語需要強調(diào)一下，即sophisticated,在中文里面是世故的意思，其實在英文里面，這個單詞是褒義詞，說明人非常成熟有魅力。 9 Monica: It sucks.這句話很常用，意思是很殘酷。 10 Ross: Okay.

10、譯的字幕里說“別覺得丟人，你單身，有性需求”，覺得與joey說話時的口氣不符。 5. turn sb on: 往往有make sb sexually excited的意思，不是一般的興奮。 記得就在本論壇里，好象有人提起過。 6. get screwed: 是受騙了的意思，但強調(diào)錢財方面，即“被別人以不正當(dāng)?shù)氖侄悟_取錢財”。 9. it sucks = it is very bad. 根據(jù)上下文這兒可譯成：（盡管）這個世界很惡心。 10. if you are a crush on someone, you are in love with them but do not have a rel
